Why not ask for volunteers to clean snow away etc. Another way of strengthening the bond between club a d supporters

We did that in the 80s. I got a couple of freebies for a morning’s work.. :)

But where do you put the snow nowadays? Used to just pile it up side of pitch. Now we have electronic advertising & no end of H&S borrocks.. o_O

Ah, but in the 80s you were unlikely to get a pillock suing the club if they put their back out...

Why wait to be asked, get yourself down there with a snow shovel and a massive bag of grit!

I did it in 78 for the Donny game but it still got called off. We all got a free ticket but I went and forgot mine when going to the rearranged game lol.

So if the club is doing all it can to clear snow etc for the game to go ahead who at the last minute, and I mean last minute, says that the surrounding areas are unsuitable and therefore the game is off?
Are the public not able to use common sense any more and decide if it's ok to go or not.
Or am I overcomplicating a simple decision.

I think the match will be off, this smells of deflection on the clubs part. We know it will be out of the clubs control but they don’t want the backlash…which is fair enough!

I'd say the match will be on. The snows melted.

No it’s not that simple. The Club have a duty of care. Many members of the public lack common sense, and there many Accident Claim Lawyers out there.

Doing a good job so far by the looks.

Pitch still covered though. Is that so it’s easier to scrape off later?

Looks promising. Get some volunteers down to get snow cleared from Outpost, down Oakwell Lane and the rest of the surrounding areas.

They couldn’t stop anyone doing it themselves but they can’t ask as then they’d be liable if anyone got hurt. If you’re local take a shovel and some grit and crack on, people might come out and join you.

Judging by the behaviour of some people on our roads these last two days, I'd say no.
