FURTHER UPDATE AHEAD OF TOMORROW'S GAME Club News The Club has made significant efforts today to ensure tomorrow’s game can go ahead. Continue reading on the official site...
You can’t ask for more than that, sounds like it’s all on the referee tomorrow at 10:00, wouldn’t want to be them saying it’s off after all this effort. could the police/council call it off?
10am inspection is useless for the Plymouth fans setting off 4-6 hours before that. Sincerely hope it's on and they don't experience what our fans did with Exeter.
The club really can't do any more can they? If it does end up getting cancelled tomorrow then it will definitely be beyond the clubs control. Happy that they are attempting to host the match when the easy path to take at 10am this morning would have been to chalk **** on it and cancel.
A very early inspection really considering the match doesn’t kick off until 3. It’s only being done at that time to appease the travelling fans - even though most will be well into their journey by then anyway.
Obviously can't knock the effort, but 10 am tomorrow is too late for me, for fans making a 6 hour trip.
What is worth noting is the inspection is at the referees request for that time. At least the Plymouth coaches can stop off b4 10 am and turn back if necessary. Shame it isn't more of a shorter journey that some other clubs would have had to do. The undersoil heating will I expect be on all night and the areas in shadow in the morning boosted by the lamps.
It’s a tough call. A rare occasion where fans are travelling much further than they would be compared to most other games. What’s more important to Barnsley FC - getting their match played, or not pissing off the travelling Plymouth fans? It’s a much earlier inspection than it should be and that’s clearly being done to appease their fans. Ultimately, it’s their choice to take the risk and travel. Being told now that there’s an inspection at 10am gives them the opportunity to set off a bit later then they might have planned (4:30am seems extreme for some of the official coaches unless they’re coming from deepest, darkest Cornwall. The longest it’s ever taken me to get to Plymouth is 7 hours and I’ve done that journey a LOT. On average it’s between 5 and 6 hours), or just not travel at all. Even if they set off at 8am they’ll only be near Bristol if it gets called off. It’s not comparable to the Exeter game where our fans were being told very little throughout the day and the match was called off far too late in the day.
Did think about that… so I googled it… https://www.thenakedscientists.com/forum/index.php?topic=15663.0
It'll be called off at 10 past 10 and be perfectly playable at 3 pm. A perfect example of the tail wagging the dog. If Plymouth fans are worried about a wasted journey, they shouldn't set off in the first place.
That’s both you and the statement using AM and Morning together. Am I missing something? If you’ve said AM you don’t need to add morning too! At 10 this morning or at 10am today. Not 10am this morning!
