    Another game with him not on the pitch with the main match sponsor and even his name has been removed from the North Stand.

    The sign blew off in the wind a few weeks ago. There were photos showing it half off so definitely no conspiracy there

    The Tannoy still announces it as the Barry Murphy Stand - just the sign was damaged. Tbf, it didn’t look the best sign imo anyway.

    Barry’s sign and Rimmo’s will be erected post-season.

    Barry has served this club for generations. He continues to do so with class. But he’s passed on the baton up in hospitality and now has a seat for life in the directors box.

    He’s perfectly well and chuffed with another three points.

    Ahh that’s good to hear. I’m really enjoying reading his book and he is the archetypal one club man. Ok, Clarkie stole him away to Leeds for a while but he came back home. Great example to any aspiring footballer

    Glad he's well and fully deserves his place in the directors box. Was just wondering as it wasn't announced so he went from being on the pitch every home game for years, to disappearing.

    He was in Legends today for a short while, went to the front with the other ex players when they were presented with their shirts.

    It was indeed.

    I've said it many times on here previously, but Barry Murphy is right up there as one of the best human beings I've met. And I've met many. I never saw him play. His coaching years were also before my time. I only know Barry, the bloke. And it's the key thing I've taken from my time at the club - the friends that I've made.

    Another three points for another mate of mine today - keep fighting, Beth.
