Choose any league 1 player from any team and select the player from our team in the same position who you would swap him with.

Goalkeeper, defence, wingbacks and midfield, we can leave the strikers out of this one.

I think this will be a short thread

McGoldrick - for any of our strikers.

Why are you excluding strikers, out of interest?

Only just read that... probably because of McGoldrick he's got no sell on fee anyway.

Probably because a lot of fans believe it's our weakest option so majority would just say McGoldrick or Clarke-Harris (who would be my pick 100%!)

Someone for Kitching into the back 3. Hector at Charlton maybe?
Hourihane to replace someone on the bench. No-one gets in front of Connell, Kane and Phillips right now, but you asked!
Collins for Isted, as well as he's done in Brad's absence (anyone know WTF is up with him by the way?)
Chaplin into our forward line, should never have let him go.

We're not short in any position though, which considering where we were in the summer is remarkable.

    If we're excluding strikers:

    Cameron Brannagan for Herbie Kane
    Ricardo Santos for Liam Kitching
    Jesurun Rak-Sakyi for Nicky Cadden

Genuinely not a negative over any of those three. Just - I think those three are the 2nd, 3rd and 4th best players in the division after Luca Connell.

Wow, big shouts! The only one out of those 3 I'd potentially swap is Kitching, but not for Santos - for Cashin from Derby. He'll be a premier league player one day

I don’t want to swap any of them. They’re a great TEAM.

Cashin? The guy was horrific against us the other week. We all have bad days but goodness me he was poor.

I actually think he was the only defender who had a half decent game. Made 1 big error but other than that nowt much more he could have done. He schooled us in the reverse fixture. Hes the second best defender in the league for me... after our captain fantastic. If I were a betting man I'd put money on him playing in prem before the age of 25

What Duff and the Staff has done with these players is nothing short of phenomenal. These are the players that many were saying were relegation fodder a few months back.

Why we leaving the strikers out? As much as I like and support ours I’d pick those first for this exercise!

Though I’m happy with the team as it is. You can judge on ability but you don’t know a player’s character and I’d want nobody who’d upset the apple cart.

    We’ll do as we are

If i had included strikers then i think that would have been everyones focus to choose and rightly so there would be plenty of options.
The point of my OP is i believe the back 9 are stronger than anything in the rest of the league, would Bannan get in our side? No.

Next question would be other the 2 strikers would we be happy starting the champioship next season with the same starting team?

    Istead / Collins
    Williams Thomas Anderson Kitchin Cadden
    Phillips Connell Kane

I would be more interested in keeping these players first before signing any new players fot these positions, fsignings or back up yes even though our bench is also strong.

It's probably Bannan for Kane isn't it? So consistent over such a long period of time.

The game against us aside, he's probably been the best centre half in the division this season. It's similar to the last time we were in this division, Ethan Pinnock was immense, but Sunderland's fans on twitter wouldn't have it as he'd conceded 4 against them.

    We’re all biased though.

The general consensus seems to be that Bannan’s the best player in the league but we all like Herbie Kane so we wouldn’t want to swap even though an outsider would.

I know this doesn't count and never was a option but I was only saying to young Alfie we would be top of the league if we could have kept Morris but can honestly say I haven't seen anyone at Oakwell that's made me think wow.
