The Owners

It shouldn't be a case of having to get in debt to keep key players. It's up to the board to find new revenue streams instead of being so dependant on weakening the squad to pay bills.

 

There's only so many revenue streams that can be available to a club the size of ours. We aren't Man United and there won't be companies queuing round the corner to sponsor us (stadium name rights for instance)

 

Nareev invested more of his money to purchase shares from other shareholder/s. up from 20%+ to 30%+ last year. Helped change the board structure in ownership. I can't remember exactly how it panned out.

 

Things are certainly moving in the right direction. Duff has definitely turned things round and has done a great job, as I was starting to lose interest in the early stages of the season. Just a shame about some of the daft games earlier on, where we really should have been picking up points. We might have left it too late for a push at automatic promotion, but I’m certainly not ruling out us picking up 7 or 9 points from the next 3 games, the way we have been playing. 3 tough tests, but if we want to get promoted we need to prove we’re good enough. Ipswich and Wednesday are on great runs, but neither will be looking forward to visiting Oakwell.

As for the board, they are making the right noises and are certainly trying, but like others have said, it’s easy to get carried away when we are winning. The massive **** ups of the West Stand closure, with the way so many long-term fans were treated, and the farcical sponsorship deal with the cryptocurrency mob don’t get cancelled out by sitting in the Ponty waving their scarves. But they are moving in the right direction. The main thing they need to do at the moment is make sure Beth and her family are getting all the support they need. Whilst Beth is in the hospital she will be getting excellent care, but once she is discharged home the shortcomings of the NHS will become more apparent, so they need to make sure Beth has access to everything she needs to help with her recovery.

So I f the board can leave Michael to get on with the playing side of things and support Beth and her family, that will do for me, and then we will find out how good the board really are in the summer, when the wolves start circling. Keeping hold of Isted and Thomas would be a good start, along with new contracts for the first teamers entering their final year, and it would also be nice if someone can take responsibility for the ground, cos it is starting to fall to pieces.

 

Yeah I’m aware of that, but as far as I can remember I’ve not seen him visible since which is what I’m saying, the others seem to be a lot more visible.
I’m not meaning to knock him just not decided.
Like I said it may be unfair as he maybe doing a lot in the background and doesn’t want the attention, but I can’t judge him on what I can’t see
