It doesn't normally end well though, when we (or most teams actually) have that many games in hand in April.
Assuming he’s called up for the Ireland u21s you’d argue we’d miss Luca Connell more than they’d miss all three of their missing players. He’s absolutely integral. Moot point now; and for what it’s worth I’d say it’s not ideal but it’s not a disaster either.
Ipswich will be just as keen to get us out of the way, as we are them. Though it could become a tastier tie for the supporters, depending on how Plymouth’s form goes. More likely a jostle for playoff positions..
It's disappointing to have this cancelled. However, for me, it isn't a major issue. We may well be in an automatic promotion place by the time the rearranged game takes place. It's only a problem if you want it to be.
Another Tuesday night game that I won’t be able to attend. What’s the point of a season ticket it feels like at times not BFC’s fault. But it’s such a daft rule. Clubs have loads of players these days and the games should still be played as planned.
Now gonna have to get 4 tickets refunded as friends were coming to this from all over and won’t be able to make midweek
Pretty weak show of mentality from Ipswich. Hopefully be even sweeter when we turn them over and leapfrog them even though I won’t be there.
Ireland have games on 22nd and 27th. If he is in the full squad Connell will still miss the Wednesday and Exeter games. Be delighted for him of course but a massive blow to us.
Will be interesting to see if they actually have three players leave for international duty. Or have they postponed it based on a preliminary squad?
If that happens we’re shafted. The one player we cannot be without. Be ridiculous as he’d be likely to play no part in the Ireland games either. Fingers crossed he isn’t selected…..
I hadn’t realised the senior Irish team had a game as early as the 22nd. A friendly against Latvia… I fear he may be called up - but hopefully he’s still under the radar a bit
https://www.eadt.co.uk/sport/ipswic...sses-egypt-squad-plymouth-clash-set-go-ahead/ They can’t have it cancelled based on a player being in the preliminary squad, the same happened in September last year when they played Plymouth.. the same 2 players were called up but Morsy didn’t make the final squad for Egypt therefore the game went ahead. Why haven’t they announced who the 3rd player is? I’d like to think we had a bit of backbone behind us and questioned this with Ipswich and the EFL.
I think we'd have a right to ask who the third player is, given there's been no official announcement.
Up to now there has been no confirmation that either Morsy or Leigh have been called up by Egypt or Jamaica. It does seem quite mysterious. Maybe they have and the clubs know but there hasn’t been an official squad announcement yet.
The same Greg Leigh who has played in just 2 league games since Xmas and wasn't even on the bench last week? What a joke.
