Sat where I was sat I thought the linesman was at fault, offside for me when the ball was played down the flank , but it is history now
2 nasty fouls on the run up to the 4th goal. The first one on the halfway line was brutal and should have been a yellow. As someone has said, full credit to the ref who ran whilst putting the whistle to his mouth but played advantage when some refs would have blown for the half way line incident not to mention the off the ball 2nd 'barge in the back' challenge. Did he book the Wednesday player afterwards for the halfway line one? That would have been the 'icing on the cake'
Watching on TV, I was shouting for Thomas to pass it inside, then when I realised who it was just blurted out "wtf is he doing there?!"
I have never seen anything like that fourth goal before. Two brutal tackles but the ball still got played into the exact space that one of our DEFENDERS was charging into. Without hesitation Kitching then slipped it past the keeper and cue the mayhem. We were supposed to be defending a one-goal lead and yet here’s one of our centre halves thinking he’s Geoff Hurst in 1966. Completely bonkers!!
Liam Kitching is basically like a fan who's won a competition to play for the team. He's just loving it all. But he's one of us.
The finish impressed me, most players who rarely shoot would usually sky it in that situation but about half a second before he shoots he changes the shape of his body ready to strike, as soon as I saw him do it i knew it was going in, composed as f**k, get him up front seriously though watch the replay back, it was smart and calm and for someone who rarely shoots was a great finish
