I think it`s going to be a heck of a ride for several teams. It may well take 96+ points for the two teams that get automatic promotion. On current form we COULD do it but keeping up the current momentum is going to be hard and we could also do with significantly improving out goal difference compared to others.
We've got 30 points to play for so still possible but going to be a tough ask the Ipswich game is another must win.
Somebody said last night that Ipswich might regret the postponement. After the emotion and energy of last night I could well have seen us suffer from a bit of a hangover had we played Saturday. It also brings the crowd into again, we've had two big efforts for Derby and Wednesday to get as many people along as possible, and I think it would have been a big ask to sell it out again so soon after. I reckon the stadium will be sold out again when we play them.
If the season was 4 or 5 extra games I reckon we'd make top two nut I think we'll end up short. Plymouth's run in is as easy as it gets.....
Not a professional workarartarer, but i reckon the end of season will look summat like this, Plymouth 97 S / Wed 94 Ipswich 90 Barnsley 88 Bolton 83, 6th place is a lottery between 3 i recon, Wycombe, Derby, an Peterboro
Do you really think we'll only get five wins and a draw from the last ten? I can't see us ending up with less than 90 points, I'm just not sure if it will be enough.
I understand the pessimism - do it too when predicting our results. But I honestly believe we'll better our points total under Daniel Stendel, which was 91. As you indicate I think it's going to take 94 or maybe even 95 and that's a big ask - but perhaps not beyond this team? It would be astonishing / frustrating / disappointing if we better 91 and still don't go up automatically. Time will tell......
We were saying exactly the same on the way out. Two high-octane games in four days would have been very tough for us.
Any other season, this run would have us in the top two, but we'll likely need to win 8 out of the last 10 to give ourselves a chance, maybe even 9, given Wednesday and Plymouth's run ins. Means we'll have to avoid any banana skins such as the goalless draw at Bristol, as draws will feel like defeats. But it's good to be looking at teams above us, rather than over our shoulders. Because if we Peterborough or Wycombe were to catch us now, it would mean our form has dropped so badly that there wouldn't be any point in playing in the play offs anyway.
You are predicting that Bolton will take 19 points from 8 games, while we take 16 from 10? I have to say that I find that very unlikely.
