Callum Simpson

It’s brill isn’t it. Especially as Simpson looks like a serious contender.

 

Just needs to keep busier. It was his first fight for 5 months. Hopefully he can get in another 3? This year.

 

Amazed to see how many fans went to Manchester to watch him, 1,500 especially when we were supposed to have a home game on the same day is superb.

Sky have got plenty of good fighters but most of them don’t have much of a following. If Simpson keeps building a fan base like that they’ll be putting on shows in Leeds or Sheffield with him on them to fill the arena.

They need to get a move on with him just because of his size & ability to make weight. It might be a year or two off yet but eventually he’ll not be able to get down to the 12 stone limit well & he’ll lose a lot of his advantages when he has to move up in weight like Callum Smith.

He looks great though, it’s a pretty weak division domestically. John Ryder’s the best currently who might well be done after Canelo beats him in a couple of months time & after that it’s wide open.
