I’m pretty sure not one person has said we’ll be lucky to make the play offs. There’s been a comment that some people wouldn’t think they’d make the play offs at the start of the season so to get there is an achievement. The other suggestion has been that to get automatic promotion the team couldn’t really afford another loss.
We made mistakes and got punished. Move on. Autos look a bit out of reach but who knows. This was always a tough fixture. i’m not worried about us. I’m more worried about Wednesday being utterly useless, sneaking into the playoffs from a dead cert promotion position, and spozzing it in the play offs.
Can’t be too critical given the run of results. Easy to forget how precarious a top 6 spot was feeling not too long ago, and now we’re talking about top 2. But, it is very frustrating that we have given wednesday a massive let off, after their result on sunday. A good result tonight would’ve put them under a lot of pressure tomorrow night. We’ve made life a bit easier for them tonight
At least we didn’t lose to a top 6 side. A wake up call for Saturday (and beyond) poor performance with plenty of effort. Certainly not given up on Autos, more twists and turns to come.
Sure i have just read where someone is wanting the goalkeeper dropping straight away , do you not think that is an over reaction ? He has enough credit in the bank to deserve the fans support .
Yes, the Fowls would’ve been under big pressure tomorrow. Bit of a free hit now, can see them winning comfortably.
Agreed. Exeter did their homework, knew what they had to do, matched our early tempo and worked their socks off. The only concern is that it shows other teams how to beat us, but I don't think there are many teams we have left to play who could pull it off like they did, even if they had that plan from the outset. Exeter made us bad tonight because they were good. I thought they would tire but they didn't. Fair play to them, they thoroughly deserved it. Not sure why they are not higher up the league.
They still are? Ipswich are in third. Tonight’s result doesn’t ease the pressure on them, in my opinion, at all.
Not sure they will see it that way. They still have Ipswich to worry about as well. As well as the danger that a couple of bad results turns into a slump. If they f.ck it up again tomorrow, the atmosphere at the sty next time out could be toxic.
Yeah I suppose they are given Ipswich’s position. Not under so much from us any more so slightly less…..
exactly. Huge pressure on them - they’re missing two key players which correlates with their slump. It will be panic stations if they draw or lose tomorrow, going into the ‘business end’ of the season.
