Typical Barnsley, couple of early goals, controlled the ball well, Mads immense, never in danger. Keep winning games, it's all we can do, and whatever will be will be.
Weird game. 5-0 and we never got out of 3rd gear. Was like a pre-season friendly. They were absolutely awful.
Fairly quiet for long periods in the stands because it was just too easy. Morecambe look like bottom of the table fodder, unless FGR beat them to last spot. There was no edge of the seat excitement like the Wednesday game but I'm not complaining about a 5-0 win, obviously
Yeah, probably as comfortable a win as I've ever seen to be honest. We put a few good passages of play together, particularly for goals 2 and 4, but we could have easily rested 4 or 5 of the first team and still won comfortably I feel. I had us in my acca with a goal head start for Morecambe and got 10/11 on it. I'd considered going for -2 but losing at their place and in midweek made me cautious. Didn't matter as nobody else on my bet won.
As easy a game as we'll get in any league. Very professional performance from Barnsley but my god Morecambe were atrocious. We've won 5-0 today and not got out of second gear. Was just so simple.
Having just lost away, that game was exactly what we needed. Morecambe put zero pressure on the ball. At 1-0 up we could have played that ball round the back line for the rest of the half and Morecambe wouldn’t have had a touch.
We lost all momentum when kitching decided to try a karate move but they are up there with the worst sides to visit Oakwell ever. We did them a favour by making multiple subs when it went to 4-0.
Agreed. Our subs stopped us from boosting our goal difference by more, as they didn't do much at all between them all when they came on. I don't think any of our subs today will have confidence about getting a start at Burton, from what they did today.
We've got two games over Easter so Duffy knows what he's doing taking off the players he did and the game was won.
Again I understand why he did it. But i now understand why managers tend to not make multiple changes at the same time too that often.
Absolutely. It was the right decision to take lots of players off, especially Luca after he took a couple of hits the ref didn't get his card out for. Just saying that when we made all the subs our chances dried up, the game went boring with lots of short passes to go nowhere and backward passes and the line up against Burton will be unchanged unless an injury happens in training.
Could have easily gotten near double figures if we had kept intensity of the first half going but Duff knew it was won and made subs to keep em fresh and slow game down. Absolute walk in park, they were absolutely dreadful.
It's often said there are no easy games but today disproved that. The very definition of "routine". If we had kept up the intensity of the first half we would have got 8.
No need to embarrass the opposition, that's when retribution tackles start going in and you pick up injuries or red cards. Seven more games this month, right choice to take the foot off the pedal.
