Based on current form, looking back to the last 8 games for us, Ipswich and Plymouth and 7 games for Wednesday and then adding theses points to current totals gives a final table of: Ipswich 100 pts Plymouth 96 Barnsley 94 Wednesday 89 It really shows how Wednesday’s recent form has been dire post the defeat by us. Ipswich are absolutely flying but the game now between the two of us could be absolutely pivotal. All very exciting and so much better than I thought at the start of the season.
https://www.footballwebpages.co.uk/league-one/league-table/predicted One based on (various) bookies odds for final fixtures. They have a draw for our Ipswich match.
Wednesday's drop in form has been stark. If you'd done a similar exercise about three weeks ago, it would probably have Wednesday on over 100 points as well. Sadly, I can't see past the top two in this forecast. Plymouth's 5 point cushion and relatively easy run in, along with Ipswich's 3 point cushion, superior goal difference, and ridiculously good form, means overtaking either of them is going to be a big ask. t Based on this projection, we'd need to win 7 of our 8 games and hope to better Plymouth's goal difference to go up automatically.
Its also predicting we go undefeated now to the end of the season with 6 wins and 2 draws - If we can manage that I think we will finish above Wednesday and probably Plymouth but its a big ask. Hopefully Exeter was our only blip
With any luck that result for Plymouth will hopefully have knocked some confidence out of them. Yes I know it was only the Papa John's but still losing 4 nil could just turn it in our favour. Come Monday night we could be sat top of the league,1 point clear. Business end of the season always throws in some strange results
That would be too early - we want to go top with the last game v Peterborough then no time for others to catch us
Impossible to predict. I'd also add that of the top 4 teams on paper Ipswich have the most difficult run in.
