So the promotion charge starts tomorrow. Our captain is missing due to international duty. Hope hasn't played the long format for a while and is only here for three games. It's a chance for some young lads like Bean to consolidate their place in the team, to hopefully be playing top flight again next season. If only we had Bairstow, Root, Masood and Rashid.
...or Brook Leicestershire first game is an attractive start as last season they "lost more games than anyone else, didn’t win a single match" and have been "wooden spoonists for the eighth time in the past 14 years". Get off to a good start and gain some momentum and hopefully we can get back into the top division.
Wow is Adam Lyth still going, he must be at the veteran age now lol. Who thinks we should be one of the big favourites to win promotion ?.
I thought that the deal that the ECB's Lord Patel did with his masters just before he resigned his role at Yorkshire was that Yorkshire would plead guilty to four charges over the Rafiq affair at the recent ECB hearing in return for agreed (but not yet officially announced) sanctions to include points deductions that would likely rule out promotion for the next three seasons? Might be wrong but I'm sure that was leaked in an interview that Patel gave.
Pretty young (and injury prone) squad. With a bit of luck we could go straight back up but I think all outcomes are on the table this season. I'm expecting a lot of low-scoring games. We've never been the best at picking up batting bonus points.
Tattersall is interim captain I think, so let’s hope for more positivity than Patterson who made some poor declaration decisions last season
And 102 all out ehh!!. That's what we would have done under Asbaghi last season. Ohh hang on, I'm thinking of the wrong sport lol.
I’ve been following this all day on YouTube (not every ball but plenty of it). Superb 100 from Finlay Bean and Dawid Malan on 86 not out. Hope he gets there as well. The pity is though that the crowd has been so poor. Headingley is a terrible place for county cricket - far too big. Why not play it at Scarborough over the Easter weekend where lots of cricket fans will be there.
Bazball at around 5 an over and Malan heading towards his century. But the highlight being Bean flicking it to all parts for 118.
Has Michael Duff taken on the Yorkshire cricket team as a sideline because we are dominating Leicester just like the Reds have dominated nearly everyone in L1. 359 for 3. Malan 132 and cruising. Number 10 batsman Milnes on 42 and cruising. Gaargghhh sorry Dawid. He’s caught!
