December 1996, 2-0 up against Man City and stroking the ball about like prime Brazil, the whole ground just burst into applause cause we were that good.

Also the game against QPR when the pitch invader got picked up and dumped off the field by a QPR defender(think it was Sodje) who he never saw coming up behind him.

I genuinely believe the cheer when Colgan saved Alan Tate's penalty permanently damaged my hearing.

The first news report was Nicholas Witchell? How did he go from reporting on the NF who followed Leeds to BBC Royal Correspondent?

Thanks for that. Wonderful stuff. The highlights package got his diving header for the first and him winning the penalty and his cross when we hit the bar and his altercation with Kenny Burns (who can consider himself very luck that Winnie didn't knock his block off) but it actually misses his best bits when he just embarrassed Paul Hart.

Was that the game where he came on as sub, the subbed player came off before Ronnie had his studs checked, Lino deemed them not right for some reason and they had to run to dressing for his spare pair, Tranmere had to carry on a man short. Fair play to Moore he had a big grin on his face when he came on as if to say it could only happen to me at Oakwell.

No this was early in season '95, when we had our new Ponty stand. Ronnie was the assistant manager at Tranmere then and was sent from the dugout, probably for refusing to wear his w*nkers cap. :D

    Dunno if this fits..
Away at Everton in the Premier League and Everton scored. Entire Barnsley side of the ground burst into a rendering of 'calm down, calm down' in a Harry Enfield piss-take accent. Laughed my socks off...

Gerry McTaggart lol, when he had a skinhead cut in the early 90s, and that was just about worth the admission fee alone.
We were beating a very poor Newcastle team 3-0, and he was clear on goal, one on one with the keeper on the edge of the box, in front of the Ponty...
And John Helm's commentary summed it up best when he said ".. and heres Taggart, can he make it 4, ohh dear me!."
Taggs fell on his ar*se, and the ball ended up near the corner flag.

Maybe Agnew did as well, but I clearly remember Shotton. I was at the front of the seats along the side, and he came right up to where we were. It was my first ever away match and even though I was a little kid at the time I still remember it like it was yesterday. Absolutely magical stuff.

That was the dire 0-0 draw one wet Tuesday night against Brighton, when the only time the crowd got animated was when we booed the Brighton manager for taking Frank Worthington off, as he was the only player worth watching

My favourite in recent times was Dike’s charge down the touchline to make a tackle at Bournemouth.

Jamal Campbell Rice running the full length of the field and leaping up into Heinz Muller's arms in celebration. Can't remember the goal or who it was against but it was a moment of pure joy!

I didn't see it 'cos our young 'un put his hands over my eyes and said "I'll tell you when he's misses it" The rest, as they say, is history.

Yeah but anybody can mention those memories involving Promotion lol.
I've enjoyed mentioning and reading about the more obscure, and easily forgotten memories. ;)

Jordan Green comes off the bench to make his reds debut. His first contribution is a slide tackle out of nowhere in front of the dug outs that completely wiped out the opposition player. The ground cheered it every bit as loudly as any goal that season. Stendel gave him a massive hug and a star was born. Or so I thought at the time!
