    Fate is a funny thing. Last season Cole was a bench warmer in a disfunctional team. Barnsley got relegated, Woodrow, Morris and Adebayejo left. Up steps Devante. Becomes the player he is now, feared by other teams. Marvelous!

    Luca Connell is so much better than the rest of the players on the pitch today I almost feel sorry for him.

    Kane and Phillips, particularly the former, have been wasteful and ponderous in promising positions. Had we got better (or to be fair, more in form) midfield players just in front of Connell we’d beat anyone at this level on most days.

    We are two up and deserve it but to me it is worrying how many of the team look slightly off it. Aside from the midfield two I mentioned, Williams couldn’t trap a medicine ball, Watters hasn’t done anything much, Kitching has misplaced a lot of passes, even Mads has lost his cool. Need to calm down as this ref has no control and they are very petulant - we don’t need red cards and suspensions.

    It's certainly true that much of the first half just wasn't good enough. Misplaced passes, poor control, silly cards. Connell has been the find of the season.
