Pretty obvious really, I would have thought. Lots of ST holders won't have been there. It's half term, lots of people on holiday.

Full of gaps, lol. It wasn’t chocka but there wasn’t as many empty seats as you seem to be making out. Why the obsession any way, does it really matter?

Well according to some this misinformation stopped some people going.
And I'm not obsessed, just puzzled.

That is an outrageous statement to make. It was a bank holiday As already stated in this thread ST holders on holiday visiting relatives etc etc.
You’ve just seen this as any opportunity to have another poke at the club.

It was sold out. The club received payment for every seat possible. Some via season ticket and some via ticket sales. You’re mistaking sold out for full. It wasn’t full but you couldn’t buy a ticket cos they sold them all.

Stopped some (how many is some. ? and most comments, if any, would be made up claptrap) people going ?. Fickle fans then Imo.
The west stand was a lot fuller than I envisaged.
Attendance 13k+. Less than 500 away fans.
(I assume all season ticket holders are included in that figure regardless of attending or not)
BTW . I know of nobody, who's ever said to me. I'm not going because certain sections of the ground are full. But I do know of a dozen or so that were away on holiday for this one.

Why is that armchair fans always complain about the gate or empty seats ?

What misinformation? Are you suggesting the Ponte wasn't sold out?

As has been pointed out above, it was a bank holiday weekend and the empty seats will belong to season ticket holders who had gone away. There was about 7 empty seats just below me belonging to a family who were away for the weekend.

There's literally nothing the club can do about that.

There was definitely something wrong with the ticket plans for yesterday. We have 3 STs in East Upper with empty seats at both sides. Row in front is generally empty too of ST holders - just usually different people occupying some each match day. On hearing the Ponty had sold out I had a look at availability in East Stand just out of curiosity and both seats either side of ours were showing as sold. As were all the row in front - in fact only one or two singles dotted about in block 12.

At the game both seats to the side stayed empty, as were about 6 seats in front, and others dotted around, so this wasn’t an issue if people with ST’s not attending.

Thought it was a decent crowd given that traditionally most of Barnsley folk can be found in Scarborough or Blackpool at Easter

There were about a dozen regulars immediately around us who didn’t turn up. But a dozen lads in a big group took their seats (and ours until we moved them out). So plenty must not have turned up who had tickets and those who were supposed to be near the front went to the back.

What misinformation? All the seats were sold. If I buy a ticket for a seat, it's sold. If I then don't turn up to the game, it's still sold.
