There's a lot less risk involved. People can't/won't be scammed out of hard earned money by spending it on something they barely understand (especially with how the zillions of hex-flagshaggers paraded on about it), being told it's no risk etc. Big difference between this sponsor & crypto. But I do agree though, after that fiasco you'd have expected club to do their due diligence. Personally I think they will have done because we seem to be going in the right direction with every aspect of the club right now
Anybody actually measured it or are people just assuming it breaks the regs? It's basically a triangle and an oblong so if when the areas are added together they are no bigger than 250cm2 it's OK.
So do I. I am surprised how excited people have got about the deal when we know nothing. It might be a good deal. It might not be a good deal. Only time will tell. At the moment we are being sponsored by a guy with 2k Twitter followers and have a shirt logo that's far too big when I thought we had learned something from the Hex logo being absolutely massive.
Hex was a disaster but it’d be a tad xenophobic of us to paint these with the same brush just because they are not from Barnsley, come on we’re better than that I trust the board, massive lessons learnt from last time, we’ve attracted an international sponsor who must have been prepared to bid higher than ‘locals’, more money the better, we’ll done to those involved
I haven't seen anyone on here get excited about it? Only whether they like the logo or not. According to the club it's the most financially beneficial sponsor to date, so people are definitely going to talk about it... At some point we have to start trusting the club again, only one way they can amend their mistakes is by doing their research and trying again
Record deal is good. Casting our net further afield than Britain is good. Not sure why we've allowed in the first place such a massive logo once again, but it's easy to sort. The rest of it like reaching millions of new fans in the states, we wait and see.
The US Mobile writing under the logo are part of the sponsor so the geometric shape is a big rectangle (almost, I believe the US mobile wording may be slightly narrower than the eagle). There isn't a clear front on image but I think it's roughly 1.4 times wider than it is high. If that's the case then to meet the 250cm² rule it would need to be less than 13.5cm high from top of the eagle to bottom of the US Mobile wording and it looks far larger than that but that's without measuring it which is impossible to do without a physical shirt.
In that picture, Dev Cole is looking a bit embarrassed to be wearing it lol. I agree with the idea of just making it a bit smaller, but I don't think its awful. And I'm hoping it will be beneficial to our finances, maybe for longer than the initial contract.
Not sure what anyone expects here. The company are paying us good money and they have their company logo. Do we expect them to change their logo or do only allow sponsorship from companies that have their brand pre approved by a representation of fans? Personally I don’t see the logo as offensive and thank them for their support of the club.
Not a huge fan of it, personally. Screams Americaaaaaa, which I broadly dislike, but if they make it smaller it might not be to bad. It’s money through the door though. As long as they’re not another hex, it is what it is. That said, I can’t see me buying a shirt with that on it.
