    Impossible to say whether he would have suffered the same injuries if he’d have come to us, but we definitely dodged a bullet in terms of fee and wages, which would have probably bankrupted the club.

    I don't think there was ever any chance of us signing Daryl without getting promoted to the Premier League first.

    I'm absolutely gutted for him though. He's a very likeable lad, who always seems to be happy and have a smile on his face. He was a great player for us who embraced his loan spell here. The Luton game in particular where he missed a penalty for a hattrick, he was completely untouchable that day.

    He didn't seem the injury prone type when he played for us and he took some physical stick, getting nowt from the refs because of his physique.

    WBA seem to have a growing injury list. I know there are freak injuries sometimes but I'd defo be looking at their training regime / how hard they are pushing players etc.

    He’s always likely to get more injuries with the size of him & how explosive he is. I still would’ve 100% took him permanently if we got promoted.

    Always a non-starter for us unless we were in the premier league.

    Never going to be a full time Red, but was awesome in his little spell. Sad about his injury, but at least he won’t get a bolt through the brain..

    To be fair oulare and iseka must have been on abit combined. Oulare a rumored 10k a week.
    Don't know what dikes on a west brom but would be more than we could afford.

    I think that there are a number of players of Dike's physical stature who have suffered from injuries and have had there careers cut short. The weight they carry poses a threat to defences but also puts extra pressure on their hip, knee and ankle joints. History is littered with great "heavyweight" players who have struggled to play beyond their 30th birthday. it is the "whippets" such as Modrich who enjoy careers into their thirties.
