Not according to my maths and not being pedantic here but Bolton are 10 points behind with 4 games left, that’s potentially 12 points. Not going to happen like but just thought I’d point out the very slim possibility. Win today and that secures at least 4th place. It’s a shame that there could well be a lot riding on our games with MK Dons and Peterboro’ as we can’t field extensive changes to the team and rest some of our regular players.
Yes, we cemented our play off place with the point at Lincoln, we’re talking about not finishing below 4th place though, which gives us 2nd leg at home. Should we not get automatic of course
We cannot finish lower than 6th but do we really want another 3 games at the end of a season COYR we can still make second and automatic promotion……..,………………,,,
Eh, confused here as What I’ve said is correct. Bolton are 10 points behind with 72 points and 4 games left to play, potentially they can reach 84 points. We currently have 82 points, so no more points or just 1 draw only of our last 4 would see Bolton above us. As I’ve already acknowledged this is not going to happen, potentially it can though.
Got confused then and had to go back to check. The original question was 'Does a win guarantee a play off place tday' (not about 4th place finish). The answer is it's already guaranteed
