And I'm not even joking. I don't like to blame refs like I said after burton away but **** me this bloke shouldn't ref another game.

Like I said I don't like to blame refs. The 1st goal shouldn't have been a corner but I thought isted and Russell could have defended it alot better that wasn't the refs fault.
Then I watched the rest of the game and was in shock the club should complain to the efl about him or he should be held accountable for some of those decisions.

We were beaten by a far better side who didn’t need any help from the ref….but by Christ they got it. Every 50/50 decision went their way but by far the worst was Hirst not getting a second yellow. Since when did a blatant hand in the face not warrant at least a booking? No doubt if it’d been the other way round it would have been a straight red.
    Bent as…..

The Willard game is burnt in my mind as the worst day at Oakwell I can ever remember. this ranks in the top 10 since then.

100% Hirst should have had a 2nd yellow card and sent off. Barnsley players got yellow cards for much less offences.

Morsy was also lucky to stay on the field for 90 minutes.

One of those "going home in a filthy mood" matches. We would probably have still lost but what a complete clown this man was. He must have been furious when Isted saved that penalty. Amazing he didn't let them take it again.

Did their number 3 Davis handle it in his own area before he hit it long to Hirst for the 2nd? Everyone around me was convinced it was a pen at the time but not seeing much online about it

Looked iffy from the West but not a clear enough view to be certain. Has a pretty good view of their Penalty though and we would never have been given it in a million years

Ref indicated it had hit the front of his shoulder when the players were complaining to him after the goal.

I've not seen any highlights yet, but would love to see just why a corner was given for the first goal, and whether their no.7 was offside for the third. Looked it from the ESL and Kitching, Cadden & Kane were giving the linesman some reight gyp.

Talking of no.7s......why was the Old No.7 shut tonight?

The ref was so bad he made me miss Rebecca Welch.

But he wasn't the reason we lost tonight. Tonight has been coming for the past month where standards have noticeably slipped.

I thought the ball came off Cadden for the corner for their first goal. Seems like I'm in the minority.

I don't usually complain much about ref's, as its very easy to think they are against you when the whole match is also going wrong. BUT, tonight's ref was so blatantly biased towards Ipswich and their players. His decisions, let offs and general, seemingly, look after the 'big Ipswich' was unbelievable. The amount of times things were 'missed' or not dealt with later was astonishing, even when he was near to events and looking straight at them.

Ah well, at least we are in the play-offs, so hopefully can do a good job in them.

It’s always more intense if you’re watching the game live and the atmosphere towards the Referee was toxic. I was screaming at him for a lot of that game. I don’t think he could be described as ‘biased’ though.
Cowardly and incompetent would be the terms I’d use.

The biggest fear for me in the play offs is that we get a ref like tonight and as we know there is no shortage of em.

OP must have missed a few games if he thought tonight’s was the worst since Willard. He was poor and his descisions certainly favoured Ipswich but there have been worse refs than him this season never mind in the last 25 years

Agree with this - he's not the worst we've had this season, never mind over two decades.

I actually thought he was ok up to about 20 minutes in and then he seemed to become more and more indecisive and favour Ipswich.

I'm convinced the third was offside. The lad who tapped it through to the scorer.
1st I didn't really see, it was sort of all of a sudden at the back of the net.
    2nd, was poor defending.

They are the best team in the league based on what I've seen this season.

Someone next to me said he high fives one of their players as they were being subbed towards the end. Looked at dugout and Duff seemed to be making the same point
