Is the club also disappointed that one half wit chose to steal the match ball? Is he on CCTV as well? He gave it to a kid at one point who had it under his red shirt for a while. All of this I could see from the ESL half way line.
No, the kid left with the matchball, they even took a photo of him with it right next to the steward on the stand exit stairwell at full time.
Same away at burton their keeper had things thrown in his direction. Especially after the handbags with our players 2nd half. People need to get a grip and stop it. Although I've seen plenty of flares and missiles thrown from the away end over the years and 0 statements.
Not good. I wonder if the adult with the kid has thought about what they're teaching in allowing / encouraging that behaviour. Or perhaps they just don't care. I was surprised that the Stewards didn't intervene to recover the ball last night. That would surely have been more appropriate than the attempted confiscation of Granty's megaphone. I don't think he's brought it since btw which I suspect means he's been told/asked not to - @granty the red?
How are they going to do that though? It's obviously much easier to identify people in the home end, as most will have a designated seat. It's almost impossible to find someone in the away end because the seat number won't necessarily be assigned to an individual.
The thing about holding on to the ball when it goes in the crowd was it was plain stupid, we were losing & needed to get the ball in play , I often wonder what goes through peoples brains when they do daft things like that & before someone says it was only a kid then if it was only a kid then that kid would have had a guardian with them so there is no excuses .
In the modern game where everything is disposable and our own team actually change shirts at half time, I have no problem with a kid swiping a football.
