We certainly did not all feel like that at the time

Even I didn't think that and I'm famously negative. I saw a team who have done exceptionally to get to within touching distance of automatic promotion who weren't performing as well as they can when they've just found out that they are playing a meaningless game with two or three vital ones coming up and with a couple of key key players missing.

If we can't forgive the players for not being at their best in essentially a friendly today when they know the play offs are in a couple of weeks then I give up.

I know it isnt great that our plan B today was poor, however, it was worth trying. To put a positive touch to it - look how well we did when we did revert back to our normal formula with plan A. The lads pulled back 3 goals when they needed to in, as Supertyke says, essentially a friendly. And MK Don's were battling for their lives, so imagine when we really need to dig deep in those playoffs and perform. I'm full of confidence :)

Agree and so does Duff I think by the fact he moved Williams into his slot and Cotter into RWB. If mads is not back I think we will find it a real struggle.

Think in hindsight it was MK dons making subs and slowing the game down that came back to haunt them. Honestly the weirdest game I’ve seen. We didn’t get out of our half for the 25 mins of the 2nd half. Then it looked like it was dead and buried for us then looked like we might go and win it and then they had one more big chance to win it too.
Weird football stadium too. Felt like they had no fans there and great to see our fans all in fancy dress.

We already scored 2 in the comeback to make it 4-3 before they made any subs. I'd say the reason they made the subs is because we started getting back into the game because we switched it up. I berated the players at 4-1, so I'm definitely giving them credit - and Duff credit - for making tactical changes & pulling a point out of nowhere, because as you say for that first 20/25 minutes of the second half they hammered us.

Agree about the fans - fair play to each and every one of them for making that effort! Brilliant our away lads & lasses.

That’s what I meant. They made subs to try and change things and it didn’t work out. Bit like when we make 4 subs at once it rarely works out.

Our Subs had an impact today. Humble pie time for Watters can’t ask for more than 2 goals off the bench.
Also taking Cundy off helped us enormously.
If We lose a CH I’d say Williams to replace them and Cotter to RWB looks a lot better than Cundy as a straight swap

You don't seem to be a fan of The Band.

We're all back down on planet earth now hoping for the best in the play offs.

I found it odd when I read that Cundy was playing as one of the wide centre backs. Everything I’ve seen of him, and read about him, suggests he’s all about heading/clearing it away. Whereas those wide CB positions demand so much more.

I turned up to see them in Nostell Priory in 1985 (I think).

They were somewhat underwhelming. But the day was still worth it - topless hippies serving dope sticks out of tents only 3 or 4 miles from your own home town of Hemsworth.

I seem to think that Jethro Tull were the main act, but it was a long day and I am (and was) too drunk to remember.

For large parts of that second half Barnsley were the second most hated club in football, allowing the most hated club in football three easy points when there is a possibility of relegating them. Luckily Barnsley rallied to avoid that stigma.
