How many of these fans were there through the bad times. And how many of them have suddenly found it fashionable to 'support' Wrexham Fc again, after all these years. I don't blame the club or the fans for this ridiculous media coverage though.
Can't we just be happy for some folks, who have had a crap time for about 20 years? I'm not dancing around with joy. That will only happen if we beat Wednesday, or whoever at Wembley. Don't get where the hate is coming from in my perspective.
I don't think it's hate. I certainly don't hate them. Sick to the back teeth of seeing/hearing about them every 2 minutes as though what they've done is somehow a huge achievement or a massive shock, ala Barnsley beating Chelsea & Liverpool & getting to Wembley in one season. Or Bradford City getting to the league cup final in 2013 - incredible achievements nobody expected.
It's not a brilliant achievement given their budget and the fact they have a league 1 standard striker in the conference. And it's not celebrating the achievement at all - I can't remember BBC news televising celebrations for other conference promotions. It's just celebrity worship. They seem decent guys but they bought promotion. It's not a plucky underdog story, or if it is it's a story where the plucky underdog wins the Euro millions and then uses that wealth to grind his peers to dust.
Because outside of Wrexham why does it matter to everyone else on a national scale? If Ryan Reynolds wasn’t involved it wouldn’t merit a mention.
Yeah, can't begrudge their genuine fans. Must be an unreal feeling, bit like when Newcastle/City got taken over. Can't blame the fans at all, it isn't their fault, they're just the lucky ones. The media surrounding it though and the myth that they're plucky underdogs is just annoying
According to reports Ryan Reynolds has bought a house in the Wrexham area and will be living alongside other stars like Dennis Taylor and Steve Cooper, that’s some list of stars to be living close by
Why so much interest in Wrexham F C from posters (see above) who oddly claim to have no interest in the Club ? -------------------------------- Wrexham AFC’s bus parade takes place tonight, Tuesday May 2, with players and staff from our title-winning, newly-promoted men’s and women’s first team set to depart from the Racecourse Ground at 6.15pm. With between 15,000 and 20,000 supporters expected to descend on the city centre, please see the key information below on what to expect, and how to best enjoy the evening. We are encouraging crowds to spread themselves along the route to ensure a good view of the buses and players.
Ooh that's Ryan Reynolds and his wife isn't she lovely. Don't they look a picture together. She'll be there darning his socks while he's at the football. Devoted to her craft. That Steve Cooper makes me want to get another wet wipe out for my upside down jam jar bottoms. They've been steamed up the last couple of weeks at the snooker....aww bless.
nowt to do with jealousy as far as I’m concerned. As others have said it’s the overreaction from the media that irritates. It’s not like it’s some kind of fairy tale/ underdog story, Ryan Reynolds and co wanted a club and chose them. Yes they seem to have fully embraced the fans and area but the success has been purely on the back of their money and celebrity. Anybody remember the BBC devoting more than 30 seconds to the National league winners before?
don’t bloody watch it then.. bloody miserable sods I’d bloody hate Hollywood ploughing money into us and having a tv series watched worldwide it’d be bloody awful
