I commented on the fact he has an awful game today and was at fault for both goals. Are we no longer allowed to criticise? If I'd said he was brilliant today would that have been better for you? He has to improve in the play offs, simples. He's had a good season alongside Andersen but he needs to step up when it matters. Hopefully he will do that in the play offs but he can't fanny around with the ball like he does at times.
He's had a very good season. He was very inconsistent prior to this season, did plenty of good things, but his game was also littered with mistakes. This season 10 games can go by and he doesn't put a foot wrong. Maybe needs to think about how often he attempts the Hollywood pass, it's too difficult to get right to be trying it multiple times every game, but the worst thing that happens with that is we surrender possession way up the other end of the field. Extra marks for distributing his bookings across all competitions. Lad got booked 47 times and somehow managed not to get suspended.
Him and conman cost the club over 10 million 8 million on the relegation. Hiring schopp and poya. Signing iseka and oulare on long deals.
If / when we go up he would be one of the ones we would need to replace to give us a chance of staying up. In L1 he is a good enough player and his mistakes aren’t punished very often. Positionally he remains very poor but I don’t think that will improve at this stage.
Kitching's getting better all the time. He had a poor game today but he's been fantastic this season. Think I've watched his goal vs Wednesday more than I've watched that Only Fools and Horses episode where they go to Amsterdam, and I've watched that many many times.
Kitching is one of the success stories of the season. He has stopped with the stupid, needless headbutts and elbows and is a player who always gives his all for the cause. If, on occasion, he makes mistakes, it’s because he is a League One player for Barnsley. If he didn’t make the mistakes and have a bit of inconsistency he would be neither. He is a way better player than he was a year ago, so let’s hope he keeps on improving. If we go up it might be a bit of a struggle next season, but if he carries on improving at the rate he is, who knows. I don’t think we have any players that deserve knocking at present, because I would only do that if they were not playing to their full capability, or were constantly picking up silly yellow and red cards, something that Kitching did in the past. Some of the players wouldn’t be good enough at the moment if we were to be playing the likes of Everton, Middlesbrough and Blackburn week in week out, but I’m sure Duff and his team will identify the players he thinks are ready, the ones who need extra help to get to the right level and those he needs to move on. I’d put Kitching in the middle category and I’d love to see him make the step up.
