He must’ve given different interviews because the one I heard he was complimentary. He said we put teams under pressure with long throws & set pieces which is true. We’ve got some cracking set piece takers. He even had a joke at the end about how it made a change for him & Duff not to have fallen out.
Dick does as well. Maybe it's just synonyms for the love length which get through? **** Edit: C0ck is where the line is drawn
He reminds me of Neil Harris and his infamous, "we were the better team, but Barnsley attacked corners differently to how we thought they would, and that's why they won" ramble. Let him crack on, focusing mainly on our set plays. A lot of our goals from them tend to be direct free kicks saved by the keeper, with Cole on hand to mop up. There were a couple of instances yesterday where we nearly got joy from that. Connell smashed one in the first half which their keeper spilled; that's the sort of chance Cole and Norwood generally like. There was the Phillips one in the second half too which found it's way to Bobby Thomas. So he hasn't properly worked us out just yet.
That’s what I heard too, quite complimentary of us being on top for periods of the game & how they had to cope with it. Noticed him & Duff had a little chat & embrace at the final whistle. Clearly a friendly rivalry, with lots of mutual respect between them.
He should be at home watching Coronation Street on Friday with his 9pm to 7am curfew. But apparently he can play.
Shocking isn't it. He hasn't been punished for what he did and can play a part in trying to get them promoted.
Didn't see too much wrong with that interview. It is in effect 0-0. Away goals don't count double. Getting the ball into the box from free kicks. Corners and long throws, does not mean hoofball. Trying to lift his players going into the second leg. We (Barnsley) managed the game superbly, fact. Fascinating how we see things differently. I dislike the bloke as much as any other from the way he acted in 3 prior games. But I don't look for summat that isn't there. My Rotherham fan mate dislikes him just as much as anybody. as he had form with them as well.
My mate who’s a Bolton fans says we were easily best team and we should have won 3-0. He’s confident they can win on Friday though
Unlike some of our doom and gloom merchants who didn't fancy our chances. Played 4 W1 L1 D2 suggests a tough game.
Given this seasons other results home and away, they will be confident. Can see them being a lot more direct and they’ll feel they can get us on the counter in behind our wing backs if we’re trying to get Cadden and Williams forward
Agree. (Although I think you're replying to a different post ) . It's going to be tough mate. But I think our players are more than good enough and up for the task as they were yesterday.
If we were playing a team who had only beaten us once in the past seventeen games, I would be confident too.
