The biggest disappointment for me was the outcome. We controlled the game tonight. We started the better team. We had the ball, we quietened their crowd and the goal came out of the blue.

Not sure if it was a foul or not to be honest. Marginal. They get given sometimes. Sometimes penalties aren't given. Overall, Barnsley were the better side over the two legs. Barnsley deserved to win. If Bolton had deserved it Id say so but they didnt. Barnsley were better

That's because we didn't let them. Take the start of the second half. They went full pelt for 15 minutes, we sat back to soak it up and then for the last half hour they were knackered.

67% possession and just 2 on target. One was a scuffed trickle straight at Isted at a few MPH and the other I can't remember. That's not "better" when you look at how much we worked Trafford.

Bolton have a problem with Evatt as Manager a) He’s blind and b) he thinks he can play like Manchester City - at the third tier of English football. Good luck with that.

 

He'd have got some credit if he'd told it how it was.We've outplayed and out thought Bolton in both legs but he's trying to mask over his own failings.Bolton supporters will see straight through his comments.

Have to say the 2 minute 'highlights' on YouTube don't exactly support Evatts claim they 'took control' It mainly consisted of Barnsley attacks and shots on target and Bolton's indirect free kick near the end which was blazed over the bar.

I don't get the references to the 'non free kick' that led to the goal either, since the highlights show open play from the halfway line prior to the pass , cross and headed goal. I had thought the goal must have come from a cross from the actuakl free kick or something when the matchday thread was on about it. What did I miss?

 

Season’s over now Ian. You can have a rest from talking nonsense until August now.

 

We let them have the ball they did nothing with it we just kept our shape and pressed when needed they had no answer to that or how to undo it.
