I don't think it's down to the players to police that moreover its much safer to deal with people in a friendly way in that environment.

But you can tell people to stay off the pitch all you want, but they aren't going to if they know the players will let you have a picture or autograph. The players could have been under instructions not to engage with pitch invaders by basically running off back up the tunnel.

Human emotion takes over. Trying to put any blame onto the players for supporters entering the pitch is just silly to me.

You’ll have a job on doing that. Some of the first on the pitch were the players own family & friends who left the east upper before the full time whistle to get on the pitch

Not sure banning Duffs children for life would work to be honest

Pitch invasions are inevitable, as is 99% of humanity’s crap taste in music.
There’s a simple solution to such devastating problems. Stay away from football. It works for me.
I had a lovely evening alone with radio Sheffield. Door locked & lights out. It still felt like I was breaking some EFL law & I might be grassed up by Ipswich Town at any time. :)

In that case the club are going to have a big decision to make: ban as many as they can identify, starting with the easiest first i.e. the friends and family of the players, or realise that if they start banning ordinary fans then they'd have to ban the players' friends and family or they'd we walking a tightrope of hypocrisy (if they banned some but not all). I think they should just let it be. I saw plenty of adults and kids on the pitch in April 1997, me included.. I fail to see the difference.

Most of the fans on pitch went to pen box near bolton fans to stick 2 fingers up or give the ****** sign. Instead of going to the middle to sing or celebrate. Was poor show from us, no class at all
