They are right. It shouldn't be used in our game.

I don’t understand the problem with VAR.

could it be improved ? Yes

does it result in more accurate decisions ? Yes

Our lads won't be able to place the ball 5 yard outside the quadrant at corners then like normal otherwise we'd expect any resulting goal to be chalked off.

    Which would be annoying.

Bless them. Terrified they’re going to be on the wrong end of a referees decision for once. They all know the Derby player wouldn’t have been sent off if they hadn’t cheated.

Correct. And in a game of this magnitude and against that lot it’s a no brainer, whatever you think of its impact on the atmosphere and enjoyment of the game.

I’ll be honest, I’m not a fan of VAR at all. Personally think the way it’s implemented is wrecking the game. BUT. This season we’ve seen so many appalling refs, to the point where I’ve lost all faith in them. So in a game of this magnitude, if it means they are more likely to get the big decisions right, then I’m up for it.

Could you imagine how many penalties we would have got if we had it in league one?

Given some of the quite blatant ones that are not given in premier League with VAR maintaining the original decision as not a "clear and obvious error", I'd say we wouldn't have got many more than we did.

It's changed the whole basis on which these 'accurate' decisions are made though, which it was never intended to do. If you're going back 30s through every incident to draw lines on a computer screen to determine that someone's shoelace is ahead of the other, that's nothing like the 'clear and obvious error' that this was intended for.

I don't like the idea of it being in our final, purely on the basis that sod's law means we'll be the ones adversely affected by it.

Does it zap the thrill, the feeling, the joie de vivre out of the game? Yes

I think that the way it is used for offsides is its real dark side. Yes, there has to be a cut-off point in deciding whether someone is offside or not, but when we now have such precision technology, the interpretation of the rule needs to be tweaked. Nobody wants to see goals ruled out when someone's fingernail is offside (unless it's Michael Smith's fingernail on Monday, in which case I'm all for it).

The offside thing has got ridiculous, totally agree. And imagine celebrating every goal and in the back of your mind thinking, this could get chalked off in a minute. Football is supposed to be a game of passion, VAR where used has numbed that considerably.

I like that one ( i said I wouldn't read their site lol) which says Barnsley players are young and might freeze with the noise from the amount of Wednesday supporters lol, it gets worse with them. They are more afraid of losing then we are that's for definite.

looks odd I agree but as long as overhanging the line it’s ok. A) not sure why they get away with it when it’s beyond that and B) hardly an advantage because still to cross it 25 yards.
