Do we get a say?? Should we? If the police & Wembley deem it safe to sell unsold blocks to the Fritzls, they'll do it. Don't honestly have an issue. They've got a much bigger fanbase than us, ergo they'll sell more tickets. It's neither rocket science or a one-goal start.
At the end of the day they're football fans supporting their team just like us so if there will be 5 thousand seats that will be empty by 3pm Monday, if it makes logistical sense we should give them the tickets to sell.
It's the point I made yesterday. Wembley is a neutral venue. Bigger clubs always have the advantage for L1 L2 playoffs which is fine- you sell more than your oppo out of your allocation nothing can be done. But selling more than that for a neutral final seems a bit tight. 45k v 25k isn't that far from 37k v 25k but if it's a much smaller team then 45/50k v 7/8k is a huge difference for a neutral final.
No issue with this, if we're not going to purchase them, why shouldn't they have them at a neutral venue? They've thousands more casual fans than us to sell them to. I'd love us to have 37,000 supporters at Wembley but we're a town of 100,000 and they're a city of 550,000, I imagine with a tonne of non-Sheffield-resident supporters who picked them as their club when they were regular top flight/cup final participants in the 90s. Let them have as many as they want, more of them to go home disappointed then.
That makes it even simpler then, if the police and security in charge deem it appropriate and safe enough, plus the EFL and whoever else needs to sign it off does so then they should give Wednesday more tickets to sell. They have the bigger fan base, we've had our chance to sell the allocation now its time for them to get the chance to sell more.
By us if we had any say in it, l cannot believe we didn't regardless of if they are not ours to sell, they must have consulted the team who's end they are in.
Doubt we’ve had any say in it. It’s not our ground or our event and we’ve sold nowhere near enough tickets to warrant a 37k allocation. I’m guessing they’ll be given top tier tickets on south side. Hopefully it doesn’t lead to any issues with Barnsley fans beneath them
Give them all the remaining tickets for me . Means nothing . Hull took less than us when they played Wednesday last play off final and look how that turned out . Same for donny when they played leeds
I have no issue with them getting more tickets, just as long as we make more noise. You know what to do, Reds!
