Don't know what the actual numbers are te population (think it's covered in another thread) but there seems to be no shadow of a doubt that, % wise, we have a bigger proportion of people from our little town supporting our club than the oinks will ever have. Extend that logic and I guess that qualifies us as massive.
Imagine it would cost the club a fair whack if they want to keep hold of tickets that we don’t have a hope in hell of selling
They seem chuffed to bits about these additional tickets. Again, fair play to them. No complaints, so long as it's handled properly now and on the day.
Not an issue for me as long as it’s properly policed. Still find it disgraceful that Millwall weren’t punished in 2016. Let’s be right, the additional fans aren’t going to make much noise. The diehards are the regulars who will have already got tickets
It is what it is. Roles reversed we’d be asking for more as well. It’s not their fault we’ve only sold ~23k
We have the fanbase to sell over 30,000 tickets when we are in the second tier and the occasion whets people's appetite more i.e. the Championship playoff final in 2000 and the FA Cup semi-final in 2008. The chance to get back into the Premier or reach an FA Cup final. Demand always seems to be 10,000 or so lower when we are trying to get back out of the third tier.
If we had the option to do that we certainly should. Where the **** are South Yorkshire's finest when you need them.
https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/spo...erlands-ticket-allocation-league-one-23952701 Last year Sunderland got an extra 6500 against Wycombe. The above article states "Sunderland would like to thank Wycombe Wanderers for supporting our request to increase the club's ticket allocation". It's unclear if the club releasing tickets is in a position to not support it and whether it would make any difference.
Bizarrely relaxed attitude to supporter safety and security. We've had experience of how well Wembley manage those things. If SYP were managing this game, Wednesday would be kicking off at Noon and we would join in at 3pm. We'd still win.
Some on here said we wouldn't sell 20k I thought we would do about 25k so I'm disappointed if it's less.
It's more than disappointing. It's down right embarrassing. If you've not got a decent enough reason to not attend then you should be going. Simple as that.
