You’ve soon changed your tune? You were happy for all the unsold tickets to be given to Wednesday yesterday? I’m in block 234 with family which is directly below their extra allocation, if it’s gets unsavoury and we start getting pelted with ***** it’ll put the new fans off ever going again. Not sure I want to even tell them we’ve got Weds fans above us as it may put them off going full stop….
If they actually bothered to answer the phone, they may allow us to transfer tickets/seats (though I would imagine there's some reason that's not allowed)
If and i's a big IF, I thought that the FA, Wembley etc were going to ensure segregation for the, probably only a handful of knobheads, I'd be more than happy for them to have every single spare seat in the ground.
It's really poor this, selling tickets to Wendy right above our fans. If I was below them now, I would be looking for either a refund or a move somewhere else. Don't fancy those clowns above me. It's a disgrace, and if this was the intention, then they should have said at the outset so our fans could sit in safety elsewhere. But, fans don't win matches. When we go 3 up, they will soon clear off home.
Looking at the photos of Wembley, directly behind block 227 is some kind of gantry - does anybody know what this is? With the boxes and then this, their fans would be a bit further away in the block above. EDIT: Whatever it is, it takes up the first 7 rows of seats in block 527. I would hope that is far enough away!
The efl - booking refrance and only 2 tickets per transaction this is a high risk category game. Also efl- Wendy's have sold out we could give them another allocation and make more money. Great we will put them above barnsley fans.
It's called the Incontinence Balcony. And not without good reason, as we shall find out on Monday. (me included)
Having tried to contact the Club and Ticketmaster since 9am this morning by phone and email I have come to the conclusion they were expecting this backlash and have decided to hide and leave us to it. I can't even buy three more tickets in a new area (losing the £200 I've already spent) as I can only get five on my account. I looked at hospitality and received the following: I believe there may be opposition fans on level 5 above where you are but this will be week segregated and there will be 2 levels of private boxes in between. Unfortunately I cant refund the tickets you purchased as they were not purchased through Club Wembley. We are also off-sale for hospitality now. Not a happy bunny at the moment.
I popped in to the club shop this morning and they are busy. Like yourself tried phone yesterday but no luck, there just isn’t the staff at the club to cope with this temporary busy period. I guess that’s one reason we put the strain on ticketmaster, they need to step up to the plate
It's a chicken and egg though. Where do you draw the line? All those on the middle tier move because they have Wednesday fans behind them and they'll just put Wednesday fans there etc. It's all about money. I've no problem with it personally other than they way it's been organised. In these instances tickets should be sold from the top tier down.
100%... I have no issue with filling Wembley with their fans if we can't sell them. What I do have an issue with, is with them sat above me. if we stick a couple of goals in there will be all sorts thrown over. Not having a go at SWFC either, we have enough of our own idiots that would do the same....
I'm in block 233, so will be straight underneath em. I can't say I'm too happy about the decision, but I do think it's highly unlikely that I'm going to end up covered in cups of piss. Sat below fans at many away games and never really had any problems - also imagine most of the idiots who are likely to throw stuff will have got their tickets earlier on in the week. Having said that, they clearly could've handled this a lot better by using a bit of common sense. Everyone knew we wouldn't fill our allocation and weds would want more - just hold some tickets back for both so you can ensure fans are segregated and not on the top of each other.
Tickets should have been sold in segments of the horse shoe. Top Tier, Middle Tier, Lower Tier. Then gradually increase segments until you can't sell anymore. I honestly think the main issue this time is people have had too much choice where they sit. Hence being flanked like this.
Yeah I've commented on that separately. I'm still not personally bothered about the split. If we were in their shoes we'd try to get extra tickets. But seeing the number of Wednesday fans directly above Barnsley fans, and the fact that the Club opposed it, does now concern me from a safety pov. The way the tickets have been released has been poor. If things start coming over the top, it could get really ugly, really quickly. I'm in 227 and have a 9yr old lad with me BTW, so I'm right in the thick of it.
The solution is pretty obvious. When they opened the upper tier up to us they should have started from the south so that Wednesday fans go above the club Wembley blocks on the north side of the stadium, that way there’s no Wednesday fans directly above Barnsley fans. It’s dangerous, we all know what’s coming if we win. How can anyone justify making the league fixture an early kick off for fear of trouble & then put Wednesday fans straight above us? It doesn’t add up.
