Disappointing really. And a sign of how much work there is still to do for the new board, whatever the result on Monday
But on the other hand we have sold over 8000 season tickets, regardless of which league we are in. I imagine that will increase if we win on Monday.
To be fair if the club hadn't announced ticket sales to-date, Wendies would have put in a Freedom of Information request anyway to feed their obsession.
Thought we’d easy do 25k the way we set off first couple of days. I bet we wouldn’t have shifted 20k if had been Posh. Disappointing but main thing now is that the 23k or so are going home happy on Monday night.
At least we didn't gave to spend 30 quid to become a member so could get tickets. There's advantages to supporting teams like Barnsley!
You say that, but it's still 10k more than the number of home fans at Oakwell at any game this season. Obviously not everyone going will live in Barnsley, but 25k is about 1 in 10 of the population of the entire Borough, in which there are more than a few pockets of Wednesday/United/Leeds fans. Not really sure how our board can change geography. And it's a bloody expensive day out
Going to be outnumbered 2 to 1 then. Think it's really important that we score first to keep their hordes quiet
All fair points. I suspect the club were hoping for more. A look at one of the poll threads on here had some saying they were out of the habit of attending, and sadly others that are too ill to attend. Of course this is just a small subset of the overall fanbase, but I think following on from a season behind closed doors with last season will have been very damaging and put quite a few out of the habit of going to games.
Official site said 23k? Sorry getting my wires crossed. I do think that if we don’t hit 25k that is a bit poor from us.
