What a prospect this afternoon where two of those big names are going down. Any two is fine but I really would like it to be Leeds and Everton
Agreed. Men bring in more people so have them play first and hope people hang around for the women. Rather than people not bothered about them turning up much later in the day.
On paper, Lancashire and Surrey should be the best two teams. But both have found ways to lose knockout games in the past
On the plus side the ladies are doing much better. Mady Villiers is playing against them, and she's always good to watch as a fine Cricketer...
Say what you like about Adam Lyth he has faith in his heave across the line regardless of bowler, conditions, length, etc. some might call it lazy brainless batting….the very definition of madness - doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different outcome.
Anyone off tonight? Can't see us beating a strong Lancashire side, but the other day they were shocking.
Suspect the Lancashire team will be Buttler, Salt, Wells, Croft, Mitchell, Livingstone, De Grandhomme, Hartley, Wood, Mahmood, Parkinson. With Gleeson and Jennings to come back from injury, it's as strong a t20 squad Lancs have had for a long time. But the issue will be the captain and coach, and that batting line up still managed to be bowled out for less than 100 the other day.
He was one of the better players last season. Slow start this year though, decent innings in the first game, not much since. Suspect he will make way if Jennings gets back to fitness during the competition. Personally, I would've selected one of the younger players, Lavelle or Bell, ahead of Croft this year, but Chappell tends to pick based on how established they are, and not how good they are.
Yes, my son’s first taste of the Western Terrace for a Roses game this evening and I’m not expecting him to leave happy.
