when is it announced?

 

Just looked at contracted players.

We have an option of another year on Norwood. we have to offer it to him.

are the only other players out of contract.

Maybe offer 12 months to Luke Thomas.

And of our loan signings I do hope we do all we can to sign Isted and Bobby Thomas permanently.

I imagine we had Istead on a reduced wage, we can’t afford to be paying full wages for 2 first team GKs. We either keep Colins and find a cheaper number 2 or we sign Istead and sell Colins

 

I do hope so. That would be a very welcome first piece of business, he was outstanding again today.

Not sure when it's announced but regardless of his contract the first line of the retained list needs to read 'Jon Russell, released'

Sunderland fans are already reckoning they're after Connell.

 

Norwood keep but get rid of the other four. I don't understand the clamour to give Thomas a new contract. When he came on yesterday it was like playing with 9 men.

 

I trust Duff to put together a squad which can challenge again next season & that will be reflected in the retained list

 

A West Brom fan said to me yesterday, that our keeper was brilliant. And if hes only on loan from Luton, they ought to make a bid for him!.
That's the problem now with losing in the Play offs, other Championship clubs are going to be loitering around us.

 

I think we should with a heavy heart cut ties with Luke Thomas, not enough end product unfortunately; we can do better.

Thanks for everything you’ve offered but we need to be cut throat this summer if we want to make a proper go of it next year, we can get better.

 

I thought Thomas did more yesterday than he has in a long time. Probably time to move him on though.

 

Tend to agree. I think we need better options for the midfield three off the bench. Russell and Benson are contracted, I think Russell will benefit from a pre season while Benson needs a prolonged injury free spell. I’d release Thomas and look for someone that can play in the middle of the three, as competition for Connell.

Weirdly, while I’d release him, I think he’ll be a good free for someone to pick up.

 

Where's that from? He's got 2 year left.

 

You'd assume it would be announced tomorrow or at the very latest early Thursday given that, as far as I am aware, players who's contracts are up on 30th June can start to make agreements with other clubs from 1st June.

 

Problem with Norwood is if another club officers him a 2 year deal at his age he's going to want to take it.
So even if he's offed the extra year he may get a better deal elsewhere.
So I'd like him to be here but there's no guarantee
