Let’s hope this is a start to us standing up for ourselves. I just loved this one from Tom the Wendite “Take the defeat graciously. What on earth is wrong with football fans these days where they can never accept defeat and always gotta blame somebody. Happens across all the leagues. So pathetic” Hee Hee Where do you start with that one?
In general, that Wednesday fan has a valid point. But it doesn’t stand up in this instance. When a neutral man of football, Jeff Stelling, saw both game changing decisions as errors, in the same way as we all did, it kind of reinforces the point that someone IS to blame. We might have missed that penalty, had it been awarded, or we might have scored it and force Wednesday to shift up a gear. But the big one for me is that our younger and fitter team lost that advantage with the wrongful sending off with nine outfield players doing the work of ten. And let’s be fair, as a bunch of fans, we’re not always rose tinted specs. When Watters got his red card, this season, we all agreed it was justified. When Andersen got his against Bolton, we generally saw it as very harsh. But yesterday’s was a disgrace and I won’t go as far as to say it cost us the game, but it certainly changed it’s dynamic.
Thought Duff and Khalid interviews were spot on and gracious in praising Darren Moore . Did Moore mention us at all in his Sky interview after the match , I don’t think he did
Well done khaled. Some balls calling them out. Let's put out a statement and get stuck into them corrupted fkers
Only outcome will be an FA charge. He’s right to say what he has, and he will have known a fine/charge is coming when he said it.
Can you IMAGINE what would have been the reaction if it had been the other way round ? It would have been worse then our reactions lol. Hope they get hammered every week even by Leeds.
We'll never ever know. But I've a nasty feeling the other way round (Kitching on Gregory in our box in front of the Wednesday fans) and it would've been given, no question and no need for VAR. Maybe the red as well. Wednesday are due about 6 for various Hutchinson tackles down the years but again we're the fall guys.
Well done Khaled. When a team who finishes 4th have one penalty all season, something is seriously wrong. The football world's sympathies are with us and hopefully we'll get some decisions next year! I watched Duff shaking hands with the officials not long after the final whistle. Credit to him for keeping his cool. He looked still like he had strong words but I bet he didn't say what he really wanted to.
Not into the vibe of this me. It's incredibly disappointing but I expect us to have a bit more about us.
Enough is enough for me think the club should be seeking answers from the Referees Association not just about yesterday’s penalty decision but lack of our penalties all season . It’s not just hard luck
We’ve all got our breaking points though haven’t we? It’s been happening all season. 1 pen all season with some of the stone wallers that haven’t been given? You’d expect someone from the club to fight our corner publicly at some point
We've been doing that all season though. If anything, the more we've pressed them, the worse it's got. I've got almost zero faith in the officials now, after what I've seen throughout the whole season. It's not the refs fault we didn't put the ball in the net though. Our front line haven't been firing for some time, and they came up short again yesterday.
