It’s a funny feeling init? Losing to that lot in that manor, AGAIN! How many times have we been here? A brilliant performance, only for them to rifle one in right at the depth. 2006, Chris brunt. That after Hecky had been sent off after half an hour. Then again in 2014, think it was Rhys McCabe? 97th minute after we had frimpong sent off after half an hour. They just have that knack and that bit of luck when it comes to playing us, it’s been the story of our lives really. Anyway, onto all things yesterday…. I really hate it when we start Tedic with Cole, it doesn’t work at all for me. However I understand why we set up that way against a side who like to give it a good kick up field. Hate to go against the majority but it was a sending off for me, both feet off the ground regardless of contact, we all know you just can not do that. Was it a penalty? At the time I couldn’t see what it was all about, but after watching it multiple times I really don’t know how they haven’t given that. Norwood… take a bow, sir. Now that is a forwards display, he did everything but score. I really love him, he works hard, he’s a ***** and he scores goals. We must offer him a 1 year contract, we’d be crazy not to. the whole thing to me feels abit like the World Cup in Russia. We all went into that fearing the worst and having 0 hopes, yet a young group of lads formed a partnership that pushed on and gave everyone the belief that things are moving in the right direction. That’s kinda how I feel this morning, I’m disappointed but I’m not angry. I’m looking at this side and honestly believing another year in league 1 might do them the world of good, the championship is a big step. Just 8 months ago we was questioning if this side would survive league one. I’m 100% certain we go up automatically next year, the league will never be as strong as it was last year. Go rest your heads lads and lasses, we go again in august only this time….. WE DO IT BETTER THAN EVER. UUUUUUUUUUUUU REEEEDDDDSSSSSS
Great post mate and I made exactly the same point about league 1 in another thread. The top 4 were absolute quality this season. Could be proven wrong but I think it's very unlikely the top 3 teams all amass 96+ points next season. Derby will rightly be favourites to go up under Paul Warne, but of the relegated teams, Wigan will start on -8 (and it could get worse), Reading are in a mess and Blackpool may be there or thereabouts but it depends who they appoint as manager/ head coach. Both Bolton and Peterborough likely to be challenging the top 6 again but apart from that unless Portsmouth get their act together then I don't see many others challenging.
Blackpool have already appointed Neil Critchley for a second spell there. He did well last time so they will be expecting it again.
Don't go along with this both feet off the ground so he lost control suggestion. He swept his right foot along, to get the ball with his instep, his trailing leg left the ground as part of that stride, rather than him jumping into the challenge. He even manages to lift his leading leg to avoid contact with Gregory's shin. The shin that he clamps hold off while Windass gets in the referee's face. The ref was conned, and VAR should've told him to have a look, because if he sent him off for a studs first, over the top type challenge, he was mistaken.
