Apparently close to appointing Chris Wilder.

While I'm not privy to exactly how much Chris Wilder will be earning at Reading, I can make an educated guess that it will be quite a lot more than any of the other managers in League 1, with the possible exception of Paul Warne.

Reading FC have recently been sanctioned for serious financial mismanagement.

    Something doesn't add up.

Hmm, none of the sources who are reporting it seem particularly reputable (FLW, the72 etc), and it's only 2 days ago he was reportedly going to Hearts.

I'll believe it when I see it, because as I understand it, they don't have a pot to piss in.

Hope that goes through as I was worried that they would come sniffing for Duff.

Don't think he'd go there regardless. Sideways step at best.

Beginning to look like a busted flush. Flitted from one job to another over the last couple of years and not exactly had much success.

Wilder did great with his club sheffield United but not much since. Still can't see reading been able to afford him. Is Andy yiadom still there?

Reading fans were asking Nixon on twitter yesterday.. he said Wilder had been offered the job but he was stalling. Probably got I eye on a job higher up the pyramid

It was a remark aimed at Nixon, but you fill your boots, yeah?

His stock has sunk since the Blunts, with a couple of failures. If he's holding out for a Championship club, he could be waiting a while.

Good, hopefully he takes the Reading job, that’s them out of the running for promotion then. Vastly overrated.

Reading second favourites for promotion after Derby, don't get that, totally skint and in free fall, but I guess it depends on if they are held to account over their financial irregularities or if they are one of the favoured.

Think Wilder would do well in this division personally. Less big egos, more team ethos.

Can’t remember a manager who’s star has fallen as quickly as his.
