Not necessarily “fine dining” but I’ve heard a number of people raving about the C0ck Inn at Birdwell. New Bangladeshi/ Indian Cuisine. Keep meaning to go to check it out.
The Ivy Brasserie in Leeds is excellent, or if you like Indian food Prashad in Drighlington is amazing.
C0ck in, c0ck out. Apologies, it's a nervous twitch, I can't not say it whenever I hear/read the name of the pub. It's a lovely pub with a great beer garden, although being so close to the Motorway there's a constant drone. Haven't been in for a while and I didn't know they'd started doing Bangladeshi/Indian food. It always used to be nice home cooked traditional pub grub. Travellers in Birdwell is very good too.
We dined at The Dunkirk for our wedding anniversary 2 weeks. It has been recently extended and refurbished. We ate downstairs this time, there's also a nice restaurant room upstairs. Good choices and prices on the menu and the food was excellent. Good choice of cask beers too. Highly recommend the Kidney Turbigo starter if anyone is going. Advise to book well in advance especially Fri-Sun. https://www.thedunkirk.co.uk/about/
We venture to Iris, just off the Bullring in Wakefield. Extremely pleasant. Locally sourced and seasonal British fine food.
Some have already mentioned The Star Inn at Harome. I tried to book last year for my wife's 50th but was closed due to a fire. I chose instead, The Hare ~ Restaurant with Rooms, at Scawton, about 8 miles away and also near Helmsley. Fantastic place and highly recommended. https://www.thehare-inn.com/AwardsAccolades.html There are only 4 rooms of great character reflecting the building and quality, . We stayed in the Denison room. It is a tasting 'dégustation' menu of around 7 or 8 courses. They will adjust in advance fir any dietary requirements. You can match wines with each course. We chose 2 favourite wines from the wine list. The cooked breakfast was also top notch. The owners are very friendly and hospitable, not celeb chef stuffiness. The standard is high and ambiance is intimate - if that is what you are looking for. Great location for Helmsley and the North Yorkshire coast.
3 Acres is overrated for me. My favourite is “the man behind the curtain “. in Leeds, but it’s very pricey!
I agree …. food very good but limited menu ( not been for 3 yrs however ). Home made scotch eggs still on menu ?
If you can get in at the Chefstable Melmerby it’s a real experience , Roots and Skoch in York . Devour near Holmefirth is a great venue if you can find it . In Leeds there’s Home which is decent , Man behind the curtain if you can get a table
The pipe and glass in Beverley is great, it’s got a Michelin star but is very relaxed and a pub rather than a ‘fancy’ restaurant https://www.pipeandglass.co.uk/ Its got rooms too, so you can stay over
