Have any of those clubs brought as many players through from the academy's. In one era. I think not.

developed by Manchester United from a very early age, some signing schoolboy forms with the club at the age of just 14.[4] Many of these players were part of the Manchester United team that won the 1992 FA Youth Cup, including future United regulars David Beckham, Nicky Butt, Ryan Giggs and Gary Neville. Also generally considered in this group are players such as Paul Scholes, an FA Youth Cup finalist in 1993 and Phil Neville – Gary's younger brother – who was a substitute in the 1993 FA Youth Cup Final

Okay. United's '99 FA Cup final squad cost £40million. 125% of the world record transfer fee at the time (£32m).

City's squad cost £800million. 400% of the current world record fee (£200m).

See Mansfield red's post above for the reasons why I see city as a different prospect. Also have to take into account the 100 and odd FPL breaches currently facing them.

He was superb today, as he regularly is.

Moved into this new role under Pep and plays it pretty much flawlessly.

I hope he wins loads of trophies with City (1 with England would be nice but I doubt it) and then comes back here in the twilight of his career.

United have spent the money they have via child labour & 'indentured servitude' through their sponsors etc. I'm all for taking away City's money & achievements, as long as dirty money is removed from everyone. No different City spending dirty money and United spending it through Nike sponsorships on the back of child labour. Same as Abramovich & his dirty money. Feels like we just compare one horrible fker to the next, as though there's a competition for it.

Don't shoot im only asking...but weren't Man U under some sort of restriction on foreign players in Europe around 1999. therefore had to be british or assimilated due to time here...hence Home grown talent.

The class of '92 was exceptional, but apart from Rashford, who have they produced with that sort of ability since?

He's a hero of our town & it fills me with pride to see him performing like he is at the minute. Changing the game

Missed the game as was having a battle with the front door locking mechanism all afternoon, literally turned on for last 4 minutes and ITV were raving about Stones performance at end of March.

Because of the way he plays, he's likely to keep going well into his 30's, assuming he doesn't pick up a nasty injury. Imagine us getting promoted to the Premier League in 4-5 years time and Stones rejoining us, spending the twilight of his career helping to establish us as a top flight side. We can but dream, but it's not a completely ridiculous scenario.

I don't think it's a competition as such, but I do feel that some clubs are more abhorrent than others. And city are one of the worst in terms of sports washing and financial fair play. So yeah I'd rather they didn't win the treble. And I'd be less bothered if clubs who were run a bit better did.

Dunno whether I am right on this but John Stones could be possibly best ever player to come out of Barnsley and he will definitely be the most decorated when it comes to winning medals!…so glad I saw him when he started his career with us, albeit at right back!

As I said pal, I'm no man City fan, why would I be? However they're not the only ones greasing the cheat machine that is the fifa, uefa, fa and efl and ruining the game by buying their way to success

Come on mate, be fair. It's a bit harsh to categorise Pep the moral guardian as just a drugs cheat. Please can we also remember he's also a massive tax dodger as well.

Yeah, I’m abroad and had to watch ITV, don’t know what Stone’s has done to that useless ***** of a commentator Sam Matterface, but any praise seems begrudgingly given, and he talks over much of what Stone’s does, unless it’s a rare mistake.
