Luca should have trusted his right foot. I’d suggest fatigue and pressure caused him to second guess himself. By the time he’d let the ball come across to his left he panicked and rushed.
What's sad is his miss means we are watching division three Football next season, but the person responsible for the miss will likely be playing at an higher level.
It's a shame Cadden had already gone off Would have been him busting a gut to get in the box down that side.. heyho
He hadn’t gone off by then. He went off at half time of extra time. Think he’d initially cleared the ball from our own byline so was out of play. What I’m not sure of is where Russell was, would’ve expected fresh legs to make more of a burst into the box. Harsh comment to make. He was a big reason for us being in the final in the first place, and if he leaves it’s because the club have let him.
That’s just a stupid take and if it’s your real view rather than just a fishing for comments posts you clearly have no idea how a team game works over a full season
Yeah sorry just checked he went off just after at half time. OET Must have been dead on his feet then as to why he went off. Been battling with Patterson all game then Palmer
Given the poster it's hardly surprising is it. It was a terrible mess. Luca has been one of our better players and a massive part of why we managed to finish 4th. Both can be true. I just felt really bad for him I bet he's gutted about it.
Let's not forget that if Thomas had ANY end product to his game that ball would have been sat in the back of the net anyway and didn't need to be passed to connell.
I know it's a team game. I made two points in my post. We are watching division 3 Football next season, and the person who did the miss will likely be playing at an higher level. Both are fair points and he still should have won our player of the year.
They were not two separate points in your post in the way you presented it. You said "What's sad is his miss means we are watching division three Football next season, but the person responsible for the miss will likely be playing at an higher level" That's clearly linking the two and having a dig at him. Which is fine if that's what you want to do but don't try and back out saying you were making two points with a platitude at the end. Own it.
It brings back the Odejayi argument again doesn't it. Yes it was an awful miss and I'm sure he knows it. But his goal in a previous round or his form during the season, got us there in the first place, etc!.
Personally I think this miss was slightly worse than the Odejayi miss. However Odejayi was on the whole completely useless for us. He was great that night agaisnt Chelsea but aside from that regularly a waste of a shirt. Luca has been largely excellent and is a highly valued member of the team.
I think Odejayi's was miles worse. He was a striker he had the time and the pace to manufacture whatever chance he wanted and he blew it. Also he wasn't absolutely knackered at the time.
I take the point you are both making. I'm probably being easier of Odejayi because to my mind he was barely a footballer nevermind a striker. As he went through i fully expected him to miss, just like he did a most weeks. I expected Luca to score. Probably because I rate him as footballer. Seems I may be the problem here.
No your right there, in that Kayodi was a disappointment for us most of the time. Remember we won successive games away at Preston and Watford after the Cardiff Wembley defeat, and he was a real handful and a goalscorer in those games. But that's only a few games isn't it, that stand out in a positive way.
Yes you can see why he was signed as potential existed but he never fulfilled it and was poor most of the time for us. He's goalscoring record was nothing short of Abysmal with us.
Connell's miss is the reason we'll soon be seeing the Pigs on the end of thrashings almost every week. So not all bad
