Mentions in his interview playing with/competing for places with Kitching and Mads. I’m clinging to this now regarding Mads (even though I’m realistically 99% sure he will be off). I have a feeling we have another good one on our hands here.
My Polish partner is from Opole in the Silesian region of southern Poland and has tried over the years to teach it to me. It’s too hard though. When I’m with her and family in Poland I cannot pick out a single word they are saying when they are conversing at speed . I know a few words but that’s it! Luckily most of them are fluent in English. Quite humbling really…
What makes you think that ? We have just released a lad from the under 23"s who played a handful of first team games Srah or something who was a deveoping player & this lad fits the same bill , if Anderson were to move on I would think his replacement would be a player with some experience or another quality loan like Thomas , think this lad is one for the future .
I think from what I've read he's come to compete for a first team place. It doesn't mean he is an Andersen replacement, probably more like Bobby Thomas maybe. Gonna be a lot of ins & outs but looks a good signing thus far. Clearly he is driven & I can call him Billy Kacper. Ticking a few boxes thus far.
Nar.. 22 in August, makes him just 6 months younger than Bobby Thomas.. he's definitely one for now. Be pushing for a start come the new season
Replacement for Bobby Thomas. Mads still our player. Andersen Kitching Cundy Mccarthy Moon Lopata Good numbers in the CB position.
Welcome Kasper, good luck son. Some totally laughable comments in this 'fred' from the intelligentsia. How anyone can say he's a replacement for any first team player when he was already coming to us from the moment he left Southend is unfathomable. To say he's anything like being up to Bobby Thomas standard is comical.
I didn't say he was a good as him, but I'd be surprised if we managed to sign Thomas full time. Those are 2 different things. The lad has started 68 first team games & with a preseason could be in contention. I don't think that is laughable, unless you know something I don't know? We bring in raw talent, and sadly lose them. That is the way. Teams Like Barnsley.
I wasn't targeting any one person with my comment so it wasn't a specific reply to you but, no, there's not a cat in hell's chance that a lad who struggled to get into Woking's team in the conference is a like-for-like replacement for a player who has just had a full and very successful season of League 1 football under his belt. The spiral of perpetual downgrades, letting one proven player leave or escape us and replacing with two or three gambles is what got us into previous messes as a club and I thought the Board had turned a corner on this. Imho he's actually much more likely to have been recruited in the aftermath of the club letting a whole bunch of fringe defenders like Sraha, Pache, Lancaster and company go, which they would have been planning in Feb/March when they first chose to take Kasper.
I hear Wigan wanted to sign him, but warned him that sometimes he might not get paid. And Casper told them to go and take a long running jump, or words to that effect!.
It’s definitely competition for McCarthy/Cundy, but with him being 21 and getting called up to several Polish age groups he’s obviously got the potential to surpass them, hence the 4 year deal. The wages won’t be much either. Sound bit of business this one, I bloody love that spreadsheet I do
