It was a 30 second phonecall at best, only to be told they can't help and I need to call BFC Box Office.

Then you can add to that the £7 of fees I paid them for doing what I don't know :mad::mad:

Absolute rip off, they are leeching c*ckscrapers. Biff them off please BFC.

That can't be right. There must be a mistake. Was it only a 30 second call, or were you sat on hold for half an hour as well?

Should be able to do the sums pretty quickly then, based on their per minute charge, plus any connection charge, which can happen on premium rate numbers. Still sounds obscene though, in the ball park of around 85p/minute.

when ringing any premium number always check www.saynoto0870.com
it gives you the direct line.
    for example
0333 321 9999 is ticketmasters direct line, its just a landline number which will use your minutes at no extra cost.

Ticket master were charging 7p per minute, or so the article below claims

    https://www.barnsleyfc.co.uk/news/20232/may/wembley-tickets/

However, mobile phone operators often charge additional for calling premium rate numbers. That money doesn't go to Ticketmaster, it's your network provider taking it.

This is what I read, 7p per minute. So was obviously expecting about a quid and you can imagine how I was shocked when I had the bill today for £13.50.

Pay monthly customers on O2 pay an access charge of 55p plus a charge of 68p per minute plus the 7p Ticketmaster charge.

    O2 are Rob dogs.

When mobiles were a new thing it was something people kept in mind and would use the house phone in such circumstances, but these days few people have a house phone and you just don't think about it. Difficult to believe, considering this, that mobile networks can get away with it.

    Sorry you got stung.

It's exactly that yeah, don't have a house phone anymore and assumed it would just be the 7p plus my minutes.

    Cheers.

Most phones allow you to set a limit on "out of allowance" charges. My limit is £0, which means I can't call/text any premium rate numbers at all. As others have said, it's usually possible to find an alternative number by googling the premium number.
