Hooky as I said earlier if wrong doing has been done by anyone then offenders must be punished.
If nothing comes out of this I’m sure support for independence will surge.

I reckon that would be right Ian. Innocent until proven guilty. And a not Guilty outcome would boost your chances of independence.

But could a case like this come under the Not proven outcome in scotland. I guess not. For fraud accusation cases.
A certain case that is well documented on here. Could have well ended up being one of those though thinking logically. given the prosecution thinking of trying to reopen the case once again. At a third attempt. Bust chose not to apparently due to the escalating costs.

I missed my pint last night so I’m having a few tonight. I’ll give what you say some consideration over a few of these. Not sure if my conclusions will make any sense come around 10.

How mental is politics now. Politicians as a bare minimum should be the leading example of whatever or whoever they’re representing.

Instead it’s scandal after scandal now. Every day I watch the news it’s a different political participating in an alleged criminal or corrupt activity. Weird. Wish it would stop.

Whilst I agree with you on scandal after scandal, I don't think it's anything new mate. I just think with social media & how quickly information passes and how easy it is to find things out, it just seems more glaring to us

I think that's probably true, looking back over the years there have been scandals... apparently Lloyd George was big on cash for honours, the Profumo scandal, Stonehouse, Jeremy Thorpe, the Poulson affair, Sir Gerald Nabarro, Jeffrey Archer, Donny gate etc etc..I think they were the tip of the iceberg... with social media, cctv, phone hacking etc it's just easier to get caught.

By agreeing to a formal arrest it allows the police to continue their investigation with out time restrictions that are placed on court orders...to be held in custody is normal procedure given the nature of the beast. It doesn't render her guilty at all ...she's helping police with their inquiries.....she's not been officially charged ...big difference to both instances

Being arrested is not something that you have to consent to. That’s not the way it works.

Her arrest was bound to happen. You can’t have quality politicians with ability and integrity walking the streets. They just don’t fit in with the rest. Can’t believe Corbyn hasn’t been arrested yet. Must just be a matter of time.

The arrest was in Scotland - which has different rules around arrest and questioning to England. As I understand it, they have to arrest someone there to question them - which is different to England. It might be a fishing exercise, it could be questions around specific allegations.

And at this moment, she has neither been convicted or charged - and any suggestions of guilt are likely defamatory.

If she is guilty then she deserves the punishment for the crime. But that is a long way down the line.
