First match, Friday night, Burnley vs City. Surprise surprise. Fixture list definitely not rigged. Definitely totally random and complete coincidence.

    They've misspelled Barnsley again.

I think it should be a rule that the previous year's 1st and 2nd place play each other on the final day

So from the fixtures Wednesday will be at home on the first day. Last season we were at home the same day as them so I'm assuming our first game will be at home and a chance to get off to a good start.

I’d have thought City should have a home game to celebrate the title win.

It’s always been the case that the Premiership winners play the championship winners first up

I can only see Luton being the whipping boys of the league next season. Could be a record low PL points total.

Oh I don't know. Kenilworth Road might be a real culture shock to some.

Plus they haven't entered the transfer market yet.

I suppose it will be but, in the end, Premier League class and experience will tell and I can't see Luton recruiting enough quality to make a go of it. On the other hand though they might have a Bormuff-type foreign backer come out of the woodwork to finance the whole thing. It would take a lot though because the squad they have won't be good enough will it.

I suspect they will see this Sky financial windfall as a big chunk towards building their new ground which, I believe, has stalled, probably through lack of money?

They might not even bother to enter the transfer market. They might think like most people that no matter what they do, they won’t be able to compete,,,,,, and take the money and run!

Normally people say it’s fixed if the big sides avoid each other & get newly promoted teams or sides expected to struggle

Now it’s fixed because the organisers want City to get a newly promoted side. They can’t win.

I reckon his reasoning is Sheffield utd's first game is at home on the 12th August. (The 1st weekend of premiership fixtures) So assuming Wednesday will be at Home on the weekend of the 5th As the efl starts then.

Im not sure if clubs can request not clashing with a certain other but I believe that used to be the case. Wendy and united would. And I suspect our choice used to be wendy. (If that's the case. Not sure why last season went against the norm)
    2+2 = 4/5 ?
