This is great news for us, when it comes to trying to bridge the gap with bigger budget teams our data driven scouting gives us an advantage, they don’t all work out (nor do British signings) but the ones that have have been brilliant, Helik/Anderson for example. This news means our pool of potential signings just got a whole continent bigger
Increases to 4 if in the Championship or higher: “The additional access will allow clubs playing in the English league the ability to sign a number of players who do not meet the current points requirements. A maximum of four players will be available to Premier League and Championship teams, and two for League One and League Two teams. The number of players a club will be able to sign will be proportional to the number of English players they play. While each club will get at least two places for players in the first season, they will receive between zero and four depending on the number of English players playing in future seasons.”
That’s really bad news for all the posters who voted to end freedom of movement. How come footballers can come to this country for as long as they want, but I, for instance can’t spend more than 90 days in 180 in the EU. Oh! Just got it, it’s MY freedom of movement they voted to end!
Haven’t a clue, could it be that the lower down the league system you go the more likely the players quality isn’t high enough to ensure they find another British team should their employment/contract end? Who knows. I imagine none league teams can’t sign any for that reason
