    The Aussies would have been gutted that Leach got injured, but licking their lips again on hearing of Ali's inclusion.

    The scandal is that we haven't had a Test class spinner since Graeme Swann and we're unlikely to produce another until we go back to playing Championship cricket in July and August.

    I also think that some of it is that young spinners are also not too bothered about playing 4 day cricket.

    The real money is in the white ball stuff, so they're all focused on bowling it into the pitch quickly, instead of trying to spin the ball and pitching it up.

    I expect we will see him bowl in the first test. I reckon his knee is better than is being let on.

    I don’t understand why the camp aren’t totally open about his knee.
    He wasn’t needed against the Irish so hopefully he won’t be needed in this test.

    Bet 365 robbing sods calling Joseph Edward Root to get a fifty at 5/4 a Super Boost when Hills have him at evens to get more than 20. That said Hills will only allow me to have 20 pence on it. May pop in to a branch in the morning to get the full tenner.

    The series is difficult to call. Heart says England but the head says Australia. Hopefully it will be a good series and played in good manner. Glad we've won the toss and batting first - a good first session should calm the nerves :)
