Anyone got any TV shows they can recommend?

Really stuck for something wholesome and entertaining to watch.

Due to mental health issues, and being frankly sick of that kind of show being popular, I don't want shows that revolve around people killing/torturing others (my wife is currently binging Hannibal and I'm hating it).

I've watched most of Attenborough's stuff and Drive to Survive recently. Wouldn't mind summat funny. Don't want reality TV. Documentaries would be ok depending on the subject matter (no serial killers!).

Parks and Recreation is funny and very wholesome if you haven't seen it. Series 1 is a bit crap, I'd recommend either just watching the first episode or starting at series 2.

I'm just watching "The Days" on Netflix - a docudrama based on the Fukushima nuclear reactor incident following the strongest recorded earthquake and tsunami. Think a Japanese "Chernobyl" - but not quite as good (although Chernobyl is excellent if you haven't seen it).

Black Ops (on BBC Iplayer) was good - sort of comedic drama, centred around two PCSO officers in London who want to be real coppers. Also stars Barnsley's own Catherine Kelly.

I've just started watching "Stanley Tucci: Searching for Italy" on the iPlayer. I caught a little of it last year and it'll charm the pants off you. Wonderful escapism.

The BBC series 'Once Upon A Time In Northern Ireland' is absolutely stunning. I thought I knew the history of the Troubles, but this was sensational. Real heartbreaking stuff. All on the iPlayer.

Curb Your Enthusiasm, with Larry David is brilliant. Trouble is, it's on HBO, which I don't have access to.

If you've not seen Early Doors on iplayer give that a go. Written by and starring Craig Cash (Royle Family) and Phil Mealy. Wry well observed humour.

Beef on Netflix is pretty good. There's a Tour de France documentary just appeared on there that looks decent, but I haven't watched it yet. Might be worth it if you like drive to survive. Full Monty on Disney+ is a bit of a flop but nice to see the local area. New episodes of Black Mirror are on Netflix as well, again I haven't watched them yet so I can't say if they're too dark.

If you like shows like Benidorm, The Inbetweeners, Father Ted, I enjoy watching the "American reacts" type videos on YouTube. King Boomer is a personal favourite.

Every episode of Detectorists is available on the iPlayer.

It's gentle comedy at it's best bust with an excellent sense of place and history.

Golf’s Greatest Holes with Paul McGinley and Chris Hollins , it’s so bad it’s good .Two of the least charismatic and boring people playing golf , I think it’s on its third series on Sky

Seen it several times over and never fails to make me laugh, lots. The one about the rooftop garden is one of my favourites where the two thugs try to spoil it but get their comeuppance when one of them throws a stick for their devil dog and he goes over the side chasing it. I know that sounds horrible but it’s very funny
