I still can’t get my head around the fact that VAR didn’t just say to the ref “just have a 2nd look on the monitor and make sure you’re happy with your decision”.
Yeah, I mean he only got the big decisions wrong, starting in the first minute with Smith’s assault on Mads. If he’d given a yellow instead of a red VAR would still have not recommended him to look at it again.
They're not going to if they are of the opinion that their on field friend hasn't made a clear and obvious error.

Going over it all again... It looked bad on first viewing, especially from certain angles, and at normal speed etc. And that's what the ref had to go on, and I can understand why hes given the red. But its the Var incompetence what angers me, and the fact that hes more or less made his mind up straight away. Without maybe taking some time to think about it, and talk to the player first, and letting Gregory's appalling over reaction influence him.
