There's every point in following Barnsley if you love the club. There's no point at all in following Barnsley if you / anyone starts apportioning blame when they don't know the facts.
You could be right there but has he applied or has he been poached? Anyway Martin hasn’t left them yet
This is a key point for me. The board will come in for heavy criticism, when the decision to leave rests almost entirely with one person. FWIW I'm not one bit surprised. I expected it. Massively disappointing but totally unsurprised. However, it works both ways. For me, the next manager gets one season. If he doesn't succeed, he gets sacked at the end of the season. They can't have it both ways. If that's how long their loyalty lasts, that's how long mine lasts as well.
No guarantee we would have scored the penalty, or gone on to win with 11 men. Luca's miss was a more crucial moment IMO.
I guess the view is if they had turned down the approach, a statement would have come out already. We've been here before. Personally think the next statement you'll see from the Club, will be confirming he's been allowed to speak to them. Then it's only a matter of time.
Can't agree with you there. Just don't think any statements from anyone are likely on a Sunday. Obviously we're likely to find out a lot more either way tomorrow.
The Five Stages of Oakwell Grief 1) "He's not going anywhere" 2) "It's just some account on Twitter with 12 followers" 3) "It's just newspaper talk" 4) "Just because there's been a bid doesn't mean it has been accepted" 5) "Managers and players have always come and gone. We go again"
Over to you Mr Duff. "I don’t want to be here just for five minutes. I’m fully invested, and I want to make it work." https://www.barnsleyfc.co.uk/news/2022/june/michael-duff-interview/
I’ve not said there should be any statements. I’m saying we should’ve been more done by the club to get Duff to commit his future to the club. If he wasn’t interested in leaving, there would not have been any story in the first place.
Recent comms have usually given an indication of the sentiment of the Club, and how 'happy' they are with significant change events. I wonder how the statement will read? Will it be a 'Barnsley FC are disappointed that Michael Duff has requested permission to speak to Swansea"...or will it be a "Barnsley FC have today granted permission to Swansea...". Either way, I suspect we will be able to tell from the tone of the next statement, whether or not Duff has pushed for a move. Obviously there's a third option: "We can confirm we have been approached and he's going nowhere". But I just can't see it, personally.
