    The first contract offered by the club, should've been to Duff and should've happened before the end of the season. And unlike Ismael, there'd have been a good chance he'd have signed it. He wasn't interested in the Hudds job, and Swansea at three names above him in the list.

    What state we're in at the start of next season remains to be seen. But if a lot of last season's work is undone in terms of atmosphere at games and trust between fans and board, it will be an epic failure of the club, and it does feel like a possibility.

    Likelihood is we're looking at a squad where Liam Kitching is the most experienced centre back, and Barry Cotter is right wing back. If that's the case, can't blame him for doing one.

    Time to take them tinted Barnsley glasses off i'm afraid, in nearly every aspect Swansea are more attractive than we are.

    2022/23 - 10th in the championship
    2021/22 - 15th in the championship
    2020/21 - 4th in the championship
    2019/20 - 6th in the Championship
    2018/19 - 10th in the championship

    and then they were in the premier league since 2011.

    They are a bigger club than us, they have a good history which includes winning a major trophy in England and They've played in european competition fairly recently.

    They will also be operating with a budget that is not comparable with expectations, and in the recent and more distant past, played a style of football completely different to what he's coached here. He will have done one hell of a job if he gets them into the play offs.

    If you trace back more than the last 10 years, you will probably appreciate where I’m coming from.

    Not suggesting we are a more attractive proposition just questioning whether they’re a so called ‘big club’

    They're not a big club, anyone who says that is foolish.

    They are however a bigger club than us, just like we are a bigger club than Cheltenham, and just like the next team who picks Duff up from Swansea should he succeed there.
